Yep. It did get on the edge of the red zone, but I find that exceptable given the extreme conditions.
My Captiva & Outback in similar circumstances, but it was was only about 37 - 38 deg, in both I had to slow down and turn off the a/c.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

People seem to think that a new model car is impossible of getting hot in any circumstance.

I'm sorry, but any car towing a load, on a bloody hot day, climbing a range or driving into the wind is going to get warm.

I was climbing cunninghams gap towing probably 500kg on a 39deg day and mine moved to 105 degrees. I backed off a little and the temp came back down.

A friend with a Triton towing a small van had to pull over twice and let his motor cool down to make it up the range.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi Everyone, new here. Looking at buying a Limted or Laredo CRD, depending on price.

I was going to aim for 58 - 59k for the limited, 49-50 for the laredo, drive away, no options. Im in QLD. Are these prices reasonable or am I aiming too low. I have seen these prices interstate but never in QLD. Best Ive seen in QLD is 52880 for laredo and 62880 for limited, DA.

Any info would be appreciated, thanks

There's a CRD Laredo for 52000 on Carsguide QLD. So I reckon you could aim for 50k. You really need to decide which model though first.

Thanks for that SNUKE. As regards the 9speed not being able to handle the torque, I can understand as I can't handle my wife's talk as well....

Try and go for the Limited, the extra features make it well worth the extra cost, I was in the same boat as you, wife wanted the Laredo based on price and I the Limited based on the extra features. We now have no regrets on selecting the Limited, although it did stretch the budget somewhat ( that damm luxury tax didn't help).
As to current pricing I am a bit out of date with current, but I would expect a Limited in the $63k to $65k range. Why not try a private fleet buyer, they will research it for you for free.
Don't forget to push for some freebies like mud flaps etc.
Hope this helps, good luck...

Please allow me to spin the wheel, go for overland. I started Laredo due to budget constraint, ended up overland. I understand your budget is tight, but experience of overland is worth it.

You could get a 2013 plate for good prices atm. A 2014 plate you could get a limited diesel for 60k drive away.

Firstly, welcome aboard to Jeep Garage.

I had 2 quotes:

JGC Laredo with Leather seats on road - $52K, (almost bought)
JGC Overland with ORAII (Mini add-on) and gen mopar towbar - $71K (I bought this one). Both were current models at the time.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for that info.

Can I ask, which dealer did you get these quotes from? Was the leather in the laredo aftermarket?

Thanks
