I know with the Michelin Latitude tyre it fits in but the floor is raised about 10mm. You can get the latch to catch but it's really tight. I did not have the foam jack holder in, so that might protrude higher again.

Only two things the dealer has to install, the reverse cam and tow bar. They swore they'd have a cam to install pre delivery.

Cheers
Hi there, I would really check before picking up the vehicle to see if the towbar has been fitted. There is a a huge shortage for supply (even as recent as 4 weeks ago). This means if not available at time of delivery, you may need to return to the dealer to have it fitted.....
In my case up until the day before delivery, dealer advised the tow bar was being fitted. It was only when they called to confirm the final payment figure and I checked again and they advised the tow bar was not fitted as it was on back order. I then asked them to remove this from the balance to be paid as I was not going to pay LCT on something which was not delivered and with no idea of when it would happen. But then again, my dealer were hopeless during the delivery of the car. Hopefully you may have a different experience.

I can recommend JAXQuickfit Tyres Bowen Hills. When I bought a set late last year they had plenty of these rims available.

G'day Domo 10,

Appreciate you taking the time to share your experiences.
As you may have read in some of my posts I'm somewhat anal in my approach to buying this vehicle. Appears some have a few issues and others have many. I think the majority are very happy with their purchase.
Those that have issues often get treated poorly by the dealer and /or Jeep. Others are happy at the quick turnaround whilst some are left with no vehicle for far to long.
My dealers biggest problem is communication. Hopefully since the reordering and adjusting of the contract as well as having the sales manager step in and take over, things will progress as they should. He has assured me that it will be ready and that everything is ordered or there to go.

I have been clear... As a interstate buyer I advised camera trail rated badge reverse cam must be installed pre delivery and they know my mate and I will be doing a few road trips out of Sydney and back again, in other words put some miles on it, check towing and all systems before heading south again.
It is not my intention to return to Sydney before heading north to the top end... Best they have it all ready or I could end up with another brand, I won't be as happy with the vehicle but the service will be a s#:+ load better.
Thank God I joined this forum.... Although you see a lot of negative feedback, this forum serves to inform and give folks a heads up and the facts are that the are a lot of happy campers out there.
I baled up several JGC owners at Agfest recently and every one of those folks Loved their new ride. Those towing 3ton vans could not speak highly enough and recommended the vehicle as the one to have... Oh yeah and none of the had issues with the air con or heater operation.
So my wife and I are keen to proceed although we do have an exit strategy.
I hope they get it done right.

Domo 10 sorry to hear you are not so happy with the dealer, how about the vehicle?

Cheers

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Quick question. Has anyone seen a pre-delivery Grand Cherokee with anything stuck to the inside of the windscreen just under the mirror? I was just doing a bit of glass cleaning and noticed a series of horizontal scratches on the inside of the windscreen in this area.

The vehicle was never "on the lot"... we contracted it while it was on the boat as a dealer car. The sticker or label I suspect was being removed when the scratches were made would have to be a manufacturer's label, shipping ID, Prix car ID... or at the skinny end something the dealer fits between receipt and delivery.

Any ammo appreciated.

Cheers,
Steve

Haven't noticed, but I think your better off trying to live with it. I can only imagine what the car comes back with if they were to replace it. Ours went in for the oil leak again.... I asked them at what point do we call it a lemon? I didn't get a response. It's just disappointing to see the service centres just don't care.
I also had them look at the brake lines I spotted cable tied to the suspension. Their excuse, "when it was last in for the oil leak, they had to disconnect them to get to the leak, and the clips that hold them break" to which I responded, "so replace the clips".... their response, "but the cable tie works just as well". At that point I just walked out and said, "call me when its fixed and the clips replaced".

Picked it up in the arvo and the clips were back ordered.

Long story short, if you can live with the scratch, you might be better off.

The Vehicle?....Awesome. No doubt you'll be happy with it. Thankfully, it was a welcomed anti-climax from the buying experience. Thanks to joining this forum, I was able to find where to track the vehicle's progress....even tot he point I advised the dealer the vehicle had been sitting in their yard 2 days before...no kidding!! They would have thought I was a pain...but I had to be because they just kept stumbling over their own BS. The towbar was one BS situation. Even the Sales Manager got involved...all it means was the BS streamed from higher above . In any way you will enjoy the vehicle.

I second IBAJ's comment - you just don't know the can of worms you may open.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Yep, I appreciate your warning guys... it's probably not my expectation nor desire to have the windscreen replaced. What's that physics rule... every action has an equal but opposite reaction.

That said, I'd like it acknowledged, so that there's a bit of love owed.

So I'm still curious if anyone has seen anything stuck to the screen in this area prior to delivery.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

From memory there is at least one manufacturer label on the screen. Maybe you could do a sneaky check on other cars in lot to see what they have?

Here are two pics from the day after cars landed at a dealer back in June. They had put some window sales stickers on, other wise cars weren't touched.
I can't make out exactly what is hanging from the spot you're referring to.
