That's a very good looking setup Doug. How is the draw unit fixed in place?

I mean, what things are you getting fitted (like winches, bull bars, lights etc) and where?

Sorry Boxheadmr,

Haven't committed to a brand of bull bar yet. Wife likes Ecb, I can't stand it. Still waiting to see what the MY14 uneek bar looks like on a vehicle.
Otherwise I'll likely look at ARB. Did some research on the Iron man bars although there cheaper they don't get the best rap.
Looking at a led bar light.
Fridge/freezer.
Second battery.
Roof rack tray.
Winch and recovery hooks etc hoping to do a one stop shop best price on a deal.

Already have camper trailer and 120watt solar with battery box.

Setting up for top end trip.

Are you doing similar, can you recommend a company?

Cheers

I don't have a drawer, but I looked at Engel and Waeco's around the 40 - 50 litre mark. None of the Waeco's or the metal Engels would allow the lid to open far enough. They all open "longways" to a total height of around 1000mm, and in the back of the JGC there is only around 700mm floor to roof. WK2Doug's obviously works, so I guess there is more height under the tailgate. I ended up buying a "cheapie" plastic engel eclipse, on which the lid opens sideways and works fine.

Try Bars and Racks in Hornsby. I was in there a little while ago and they were doing a FJ cruiser for a guy in Tas who was driving up to pick it up. Work looked good, they seemed to know there stuff and pretty friendly. He offered for me to borrow his tow ball weight hitch and I hadnt even bought anything from him.

Hi It4vette,

Same, same looked at 50/60/65 as you say most look to large and open the wrong way. The larger ones would fit I guess if they were installed side ways.

More research required.

Cheers

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I have had our 80 litre Waeco in the back of the GC, it opens side ways so it is usable.
I have toyed with the idea of having a false floor on sliders that would slide "forward" when the rear seats are lowered to gain acces to the tyre well.

Cheers

The drawer is bolted to the new floor in 4 places. The floor sectioned is kept in place by two straps secured to the jeep anchor points. see pic 1 and 2. The strap at the rear is only secured in place when travelling. The front anchor it affixed all the time.

You can see from the pics that the fridge door can open almost vertical when the slide is fully extended.

I also removed the jack and polystyrene part and made a floor inside the spare wheel. Gave me heaps more room to stow stuff
