I wrote to the Insurance Ombudsman last night. Jeep is now trying to get parts down from a wrecker in Qld.

A new concern is the panel shop says Jeep will not provide them with drawings or dimensions as other manufacturers do. They said they will have to go to the car yard to measure other jeeps door measurements to make sure it is all true prior to welding. I think Jeep really do no intend to have roofs repaired.

Thank you

I used AAMI 'once'. Never again. They used the cheapest quote to do a repair, and there was a very good reason why it was the cheapest. They used a brush to paint a repair, and the colour was different. AAMI could not see the problem.

Hi Rocksfly,

I sent the info to Doug re the drawer and mine was for a 60 litre Evakool. It fits well in our 2013 JGC. Attached a picture and have a set of pics and instructions if needed.

Anyone waiting to receive, check your contract and see what it says about price changes.

SRT, obviously they feel they can push that up far more as demand is just so much greater than supply and it is still far cheaper than the competition.

Was

Laredo 4x4 3.6 $46,000.00
Laredo 4x4 3.0 $51,000.00

I mentioned the price rises a little while ago. It only impacts orders placed after 1st May. Dealers were sending through the confirmations of contracts to ensure those placed before were not affected

For those who may have not read this thread, just an insight what our friends in the US are experiencing at the moment. I suspect this would be on CJ radar and won't affect us. Interesting reading...http://www.jeepgarage.org/f73/grease...mal-73976.html

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I experienced this at 10k with a split inner boot, not accepted as warranty . Had to pay for the fix.

Don't wish to sound or be pessimistic But my vehicle was but last day of march and another members was built April fools day, I hold the opinion that our vehicles are definitely part of the affected group and in essence would prefer to see the boot clamp fail and have it repaired on warranty rather than have a boot split and get no warranty cover.

I believe Australian vehicles will be affected... Unless we are completely different production lines supplied with parts from another production run, but I doubt it.

Just another thing to check as part of the daily 'Pre-flight Check'.... This seems to be where we are headed.

Cheers

What was the fix? If they don't have the tooling to replace cv boot clamps, did they replace one or both axles?

Cheers

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

How come Audi's Diesel engine compared to JGC's (184kw/570N.m) outputs more power and more fuel efficiency? What is fundamental difference between the two?
