No I'm not going to get chains. If it's snowing that heavy that I need chains, why drive any further, I'll just pull over and let the kids play there.

I would take it to a good tire shop and get them to check and report on the alignment. With what you are describing, I would say you have excessive toe-out. I had a similar problem with my 2011 model and my tire place fixed it.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Has anyone else found that the front seats protrude a bit too much in the lower back? I know there is lumber support, and we've wound that right back so it isn't felt at all, but the padding in the lower back area still sits out far more than our other cars do. It doesn't bother me too much, but the missus isn't happy!

Might try sheepskin covers, but might also have to stick a bit of foam higher up the seat to even it out.

If that wheel alignment was done properly, then I can rule it out too.

Has everyone experienced similar issue, and any suggestion of possible causes? Thanks

Given the alignment wasn't right from new, and that the dealer had it realigned, I think you have a compelling case for the tyres to be replaced by the dealer, perhaps pro-rata'd for the use you have had so far. Put this to them and if they don't come to the party contact your local fair trading department for advice.

I might get my alignment checked too. The tyres appear to be wearing evenly but the car is slightly wandery in the straight ahead position when there is a slight change in road camber. This may be normal but it seems to indicate a lack of caster in the steering geometry. Anyone else experience this?

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Congrats for all the new proud owners of their Jeeps.

I am still waiting to get mine delivered. Hopefully I will have it before end of the month.

Has anyone experienced the dreaded front CV Boot Axle issue yet with there new Jeep Grand Cherokees?

J

Wouldn't excessive wear on the outer edges indicate toe-in (or huge positive camber) rather than toe-out?

Does the noise go away once the motor is warm...is it like a loud injector rattle, ie does it sound like a big 7 litre U.S. diesel for some minutes after starting off?

Hi Barry it's not a constant noise - it's only when I take off from standstill, and when I accellerate hard. It feels like something is "twisting" underneath the floor. Thanks,
