Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Someone hitting a gutter would be first option... but you'd have fessed up if you did that, right? Has anyone else ever driven it? Bolts not torque adequately is pretty unlikely. Setting not done at correct height for Quadralift? Don't know if you have it, but if so it's a possibility.

Otherwise it's hard to imagine a component "relaxing" and causing the shift. Weird...

Cheers,
Steve

Ciao,

My wifes 2001 VW Golf remote key fob not only locks and unlocks the car doors but it winds down and then up the front and rear windows and also the sunroof. All from 10 metres away.

And thats a 2001 model. Not only that but the sound system is better than my MY14 Laredo too. And its got a cd player too!!!!
She will have to pass on to the other side before she will part with the VeeDub.

So come on Chrysler,Jeep,Fiat,Dodge,RAM,Alfa Australia (or whatever youre called this week) get the basics right.

Apart from that its going OK.

Bluey

Postscript; Forgot to pan the bloody useless rear view camera.

I'm the only driver, no hitting kerb, pothole, etc. wheel alignment mode enable in Uconnect. I don't know what air height was selected for the alignment, but presume that the technician has the know. Was told by technician that all relevant components/connections are tight.

That's what I just found on the web

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

MY14 Laredo Rear Vision "SAFETY" camera.

Well, time to stop the waffle and do something.

I contacted Consumer Affairs Victoria and am now in the process of formulating and submitting a complaint regarding this piece of crap.

All evidence needs to be submitted involving the MY14 Laredo camera advertising and that will come from Jeeps own brochures and evidence of what has been in fact supplied in contradiction of that advertised product.

As well as brochure evidence we can also gather evidence of the Jeep Aust web site. Any other Victorian irate MY14 GC Laredo owners out there feel free to supply me with evidence.

First step to test the waters. Consumer Affairs Vic told me that a successful Vic appeal will roll over to the rest of Australia as there is no central federal body.

So here we go. let the jousting begin. As has been the exprience of others on this website, a formal complaint and response needs to be made to the supplier namely Chrysler,Fiat,Jeep Aust.

When to complain

We advise and assist both consumers and businesses; however, we can only accept a formal complaint about a business or landlord, not a consumer or tenant.

We can accept written complaints when:
  • the consumer or tenant has made a reasonable attempt to resolve the dispute with the business or landlord. For more information, view our Resolve a dispute page
  • the subject matter is within our jurisdiction and is not more appropriately handled by another body
  • consumer or tenancy legislation or the consumer’s or tenant’s contractual rights appear to have been breached
  • the complaint has a reasonable chance of being settled
  • the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) or the courts have not already ruled on the matter and there is no case pending.
We can try to help you reach an agreement by providing advice or conciliation. However, only VCAT or the courts can compel a business or landlord to resolve an issue. We can advise you about your options with VCAT or the courts.
Conciliation

Conciliation is an informal process to help you and the business resolve the dispute through communication, identifying the issues in dispute and exploring options for resolution.

If you hold the unlock button for a few seconds, it will lower all the windows.
There is also no way to power the window switch without the Acc or ignition on.

Haha, my VN calais in 1991 allowed the windows to work for a minute or so after the key was pulled out of the ignition. Its a simple programming string allowing power to the power window module for a preset time after switching ignition off.

Sorry, looks like it does not work on a '14. It worked fine on my 2011 model.

The App is wired. Go Advanced N/A on mine. Switched to Web View, there's only Add Video File button. Tried to post in Web View a few times, hit submit, screen goes blank, nothing got posted.
