LOL.. We have had a Bunnings almost a year now. Supercheap have been here about 4 yrs. As for the photo, if you removed half the buildings that would be what it looked like when my dad and grand parents arrived.

I see AUSCOP, and I have a photo of them arriving in Alice Springs to hand. Fore runner of the Grand Cherokee I believe.

The only difference is the traffic lights.

If you have a Waeco fridge, you have 3 selectable low-voltage cutoff options. So you won't need to go to the expense of an additional cutout device.

It's settable at 10.1, 11.4, and 11.8v. I have mine set at 11.8v for both the rear power outlet and the second battery.

The mesh would look better, although it's set so far back it's hard to see. Then again, you could put it forward in line with the radar sensor bracket, and make a "feature" of it.
I started out taking the grill out of the air dam I got back after the bar was fitted, in the hope I could use that, but I couldn't make it work. Btw, anyone with a DCR Overland who is not fitting a bullbar, I will be selling my old air dam, complete with foglights when I get back from this trip. Might make a useful spare for, when one gets ripped off on rocks or sand!

Here is my attempt, took Steve's advice and went to Supercheap and got the mesh there. Then went to Bunnings and got a bit of plastic edging, trimed it to fit and painted it black. Was starting to get late in the day and I should have let the paint dry an hour longer so in my rush I got a few finger prints in the paint. Used some thin double sided tape on the top and bottom of the plastic edging.

That's funny, as it is not too far off the truth. They arrived with a T Model and a couple of horse and carts. Took 3 months to get from Melbourne, I think they left Melbourne because the price of housing was so stupidly high.

Forgetting the practicalities, from an aesthetic point of view, it looks a hundred times better in my humble opinion.

Might change mine to your approach Auscop. I'll take a look at it when we meet up.
