I entered all of my details, and the first thing it is telling me is a service reminder for 26 Aug 2014.
I picked it up Nov 2013, so apparently service reminders are done every 9 months. Odd.
It has just been serviced today.
Every time I open it there is a different date for the service reminder.

I rang 3 dealers to day to get prices on 10 spoke wheels like BennO's and not one had heard about the 20% discount (go figure). All three quoted different prices before I mentioned the discount. Ranging from $458 to $690 Some gouging going on there.

Fine as far as I know, I haven't driven it. Renee who looks after pre-delivery met my misses at 6:30am to get the car, dropped her of at work and continued onto her work for the service. She then picked her up when she finished work and swapped the car over.
The cruise control issue was fixed, the creaking centre armrest was lubed to fix. My complaint about an electronic noise when vehicle is running was listed as normal. I swear it didn't always make the noise. I will record it one day and post it here.

As for oil, not sure, for all I know they put sand in there. It's not listed on the job sheet, just says oil. I will ask them next week.

I washed it last night to make damn sure they didn't wash it as they normally would. As I was getting the water under the hood lip, and giving the dust in the engine bay a wipe I noticed the coolant level.

I did check to see that it was full after service and it was. Oil life was reset. I had it set on that screen when it was driven in to make sure it couldn't be missed.
I made a dick of myself, when I went to check the service book was stamped (my old Ford guys aways missed it) and I could't find it. I called them to say they still had my owners manual. They put me onto service manager (thought about asking about oil after I hung up) and he said to check the small section at the top of the glove box. I said I did and it doesn't fit in there anyway. He went away to check, I thought I better double check, and yep, it was up in there. I apologised and stuffed it back in. Happy to know it fits up there, saves a bit of room.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

There an interesting video on the production of the Jeep Cherokee. Though not the Grand Cherokee, it at least shows how Jeeps are made.

Nice factory!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

This video is on the Jeep Grand Cherokee assembly line. Its has only had 22 views so I presume not many of us here have seen this.

I must say they do work very fast there. Perhaps it explains some of the issues that some are having with their Jeeps?

Fancy, all car manufacturing process is the same, it's quality control and after sale customer service makes one standing out in the crowd.

This is part of a larger video that was posted somewhere on this site before. i can't find the longer version though. Their was a TV show in the states similar to mega factories that did a thing about the production.

I think I saw BaaBaaa.. Installed my spotlights today, I for most part have had few issues with my Overland. While getting to fit the lights I got to see parts of the car that are usually hidden. I personally are very impressed with the quality and build of my GC. There are so many friggin parts to these cars it is a wonder they even work. Went out tonight to align the spotties, took my new neighbour who is a Yank. Let him drive, He was floored by the quality and drive of the car. If we could only get rid of Jeep Oz management...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Chrysler has issued TSB Recall for brake booster, quote:

"This recall applies only to the above vehicles built through September 08, 2013"

It appears that vehicles built after the magic date are not affected.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Installed my new Chief recovery points over he weekend.
So much better than the useless Jeep Australia supplied hook.

Also finally got around to installing my new UHF radio
