Great to see you're back in a more regular capacity too. That's just my luck though but I can't imagine you sacrificing a day in the red centre for the humidity of Hawaii. Reading about guys coming up to the 20,000k service. Would you believe I am still short of 9500K and the 12 month aniversary is about now, perhaps a couple of days ago. One day I will find time to sprinkle some red dust all through the internal panels.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I have updated to the latest version of uconnect 14.22.13 and the latest maps software but now I sometimes have a double beep sound whilst driving.

Could be telling me that there is a speed camera coming up but with the amount of speed camera there are these days is beeps a lot.

There are also more icons on the screen like school crossings, railway crossings and crash spots and it seems to be beeping and them but I am not sure.

How do I stop it from beeping?

Cheers

Punch it in the face, hard, twice.

A few have reported this, usually connected with Speed warning. That said, some have turned that option off and it still made the noise. A couple have said it just stopped after a short period of time.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I've found some settings "stick" despite what you have them set to after updating. As The Snukeratator said, waiting could clear it, but I find soft rebooting the Uconnect makes everything perform as per the menu selections straight away.

Cheers,
Steve

I would give it up in a heart beat. I love Hawaii weather, been there about 3 or 4 times. Never found it humid, not like Cairns or Darwin that's for sure. Hope to see you get some red dust on your GC soon too.

Hey Hymer,

Noticed in the My14 GC user manual that it states

"Active guide lines are overlaid on the image to illustrate the width of the vehicle and its projected back up path based on the steering wheel position"

This is under the section titled Parkview Rear Back Up Camera

Laredo camera obviously doesnt have lines. Maybe this will be useful in your submission to ACCC

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Except the Laredo is not supposed to have "Active" guide lines, so this section doesn't apply to it.

There is no other entry for Parkview camera. Active to me would mean lines that move, however active could be taken to mean just lines that relative to the image indicate the vehicles projected path, ie actively overlayed

Still, where is it listed that the laredo doesnt have any lines at all. Obviously it doesnt, but where is it written that it doesnt.

The image in the brochure of the Parkview camera shows lines, the manual stipulates that Parkview camera has lines

The laredo Parkview doesnt. If there isnt a clause or disclaimer regarding the laredo then perhaps this could constitute false advertising

Just read the brouchure, Laredo is advertised as just Parkview back up camera, limited's and above are advertised as Parkview back up camera with dynamic lines, So perhaps not

The camera on my MY2014 Laredo HAS lines, but they don't move with the steering.

Like many others, the camera was not on the Laredo at purchase, but was fitted a couple of months later by the dealer. Whilst the quality is not perfect, I like the fish eye image as I can see the tow ball, as well as the view to the rear down the road even when reversing from an angle park.

The word “Active” is only open to interpretation once you take it out of context. Look at your post again, and that quote, which puts it back into context. You can’t interpreted that to mean just static lines. Even out of context Active can’t be interpreted as Static. “Relative” is a completely different term to “Active”, so that’s out too.

So you saw the brochure which omits the term dynamic, and you can see KKPH’s screen shot from the website that clearly states the Laredo doesn’t have dynamic lines. It took them a while to fix that. For a few months the website had “ParkView® Reversing Camera with dynamic grid lines(4) “ in the Laredo column and the Limited had ParkView® Reversing Camera” Many Laredo owners complained that they got screwed over because of the mistake.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I still believe there is stronger argument under the fit for purpose provisions of the Australian Consumer Law rather than false or misleading or not as described provisions. No harm in making a case under both provisions though.
