It was previously suggested that when the shocks are replaced they grease the top mounts, which might explain why it goes away temporarily. But at this stage who knows. The top mounts are different on SLS models to the standard models. I see guys in the US are replacing the sls shocks and top mounts with standard types, and it goes away.

Update on the Update

Attended my dealer yesterday, Frankston Jeep. Had deep and meaningful talks with the Service Manager and the Bayside Group general manager.

Presented them with my detailed Crappy Camera Complaint. ( the CCC)

Was advised that only one MY14 Laredo owner had complained about the camera. I asked what was the result. Answer was that they "tested" the camera and told the customer the CCC was operating as expected.

I will present the Big Red Firetruck to them on friday for "examination" to ensure it has been fitted correctly.

I know what the outcome will be!! (Very intuitive I am.)

Next step will be to approach Jeep Australia HQ here in Port Melbourne for a meeting and fix.

If after that meeting with Jeep HQ nothing is resolved then the complaint submission goes into the Victorian Consumer Affairs dept.

One question for those in the Mornington Peninsula / Frankston area.
Could any MY14 Laredo owners who have complained about the CCC please PM me.

All respondents kept confidential. Just need to know if only ONE MY14 Laredo owners have complained to Frankston Jeep or not.

You may notice on one photo below that it is from a Laredo MY12, wonder if you can spot which one it is!!

Thanks again for all supporters.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

For what it is worth, no complaints from others and probably poorly fitted was the same story spun to me a year ago when I first raised the issue of the camera here in Perth. This appears to be a convenient collusion between Jeep Aus and the dealers. It was only after I built up a rapport with the dealer that he came clean with many complaints and that the issue is the crappy cameras supplied by Jeep Aus for the Laredo. Apparently, now fitting the Limited camera to the Laredo would open a Pandora's box by demonstrating that you could also easily upgrade to the Limited/Overland's GPS and parking sensors - like customers are able to do in the USA and other markets, which would conflict with their marketing strategy of upselling the higher models to customers who would be satisfied with the Laredo.

I like this part of the TSB, Semi-Skilled!
I would like to know what "skill" level they require for an oil change

Cheers

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

MY14 Laredo Rear Camera Information;

Blacopal has just supplied a firm that does a MY14 Laredo interface with video and camera.

Part No; RVCCH-75C
REAR-VIEW WITH VIM INTEGRATION & CAMERA FOR DODGE & JEEP VEHICLES 2014-UP

American company called Crux Interfacing Solutions.
Brochure attached. www.cruxinterfacing.com

Still dont know why Jeep Oz cant do the same with the same specs.

Just Googled them and see that particular unit was $450 on Ebay. Thats whats preventing Jeep Oz from a similar camera provision,, COST.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

It has ALWAYS been a question of money for Jeep (Pronounce Cheep)who found out that a camera costing less than $20, would look similar (in the carton) as that installed on the upper models.
Where they came unstuck, as usual, is in their false advertising.

I think semi-skilled means "Jeep Factory trained".

Anyway I'm happy to try this fix out , just waiting on them to ring me back on when , I think they will do this and put in the new drive shafts in at the same time I hope

Yep, seems it takes a while for the Jeep computers to catch up, but clearly all standard and SLS cars with the clunk apply to this TSB. Looks like they are installing an extra bush to absorb the clunk in the mount.
