Mine displayed low about 70km, so safe to say that once it hits low, it would last about 60km.

After flashing low fuel the distance kms changes to showing just low. She still had another 20kms to go and didn't know what was left. Going by the Guage not many. Likes to drive it but not fuel it.

Before you say 50 kms sometimes you get more kms than distance to empty shows.

I have easily done an extra 80 Km's after the fuel low light come on, when I filled up I calculated the the fuel left was around 10 to 15 litres, so 80 km is the safety margin for my GC.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

The distance to empty disappears when it reads 40km - could be 50km though . Once that number is reached, it won't recalculate for you and continues to give you no information.

I fill at that point, and typically get 90l into the 95 l tank. All 95 litres is available though, as I have managed to put just more than 95 l into the tank when the station I went to had no diesel and I had to get to the next one.

Obviously on city driving this outcome might be different, but applies when you are using an average of around 9 litres per 100km.

By and large that number when it says 100km to go is dead on, and you will not make 120km

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Apparently, there is a warning when you actually run out of fuel.
The engine stops, which gives you the opportunity to safely exit the car, and hike it to a fuel station.
It also gives you a pre-warning of this event, at around 40klm to the point of being empty. I think that is to allow you time to put comfy shoes on, for the forthcoming hike.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Had 10k service done today supplying own Mobil oil. The tech forgot to reset oil life indicator despite I reiterated it at time of drop off and picked up at the counter, disappointing! The tech took the car back to workshop and reset it. I was told that for diesel, it needs to hook up with SCAN to reset the indicator. Is it true? I recalled on this forum, some mentioned that it can be reset by pressing gas pedal 3 times within 10 secs, and then cycle engine once.

I noticed there r two hairline scratches (white colour shows up) on rear bumper. No scratches when I waxed the car a few days ago. Can't proved it's caused at the workshop, bummer!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi guys,

new to the forum. Was recommended by Snuke via Whirlpool to come here for answers.

I am looking at CRD Limited GC with QL in Perth WA, best price I've managed to get is $66,700 at the moment.

My initial research I saw prices around $62-64k being thrown around with both QL and towbar fitted, I can't seem to get Perth dealers to go any lower.

Could someone point me in the right direction? Open to suggestions

Thanks

I had the same issue for my 20k service and they had to return the vehicle to have the oil data reset. I too have heard of the 'other' way to reset, but haven't tried this. My memory of this was via Auscop, but that might not be right.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

The DIY reset method worked fine for me... I believe that this is the one that I used:

1. Cycle the ignition to the "ON/RUN" position (Do not start the engine).
2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it fully depressed for at least 30 seconds.
3. Press and release the brake pedal six times while holding the accelerator pedal pressed.
4. Perform one ignition OFF-ON cycle, start the engine and verify that the reminder has been reset. If not, repeat.

Cheers,
Steve

Told by the tech this only works for petrol.

Hey Snuke,
I think it was you who posted a you tube link for a song about 'Wed night'. I have been looking for the post for ages to listen to it again and I can't find it anywhere. Can you you give the details for it again before I go nuts.
Ta
