Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Well here's the current situation in my world. Allianz finally get on to authorising the procurement of a new JGC for us. Jeep Osborne Park is one of the two dealers in WA with a matching car and are awarded the contract. The only problem is they don't actually have a car. Well they thought they did, but unfortunately they don't. There again, they do... it just arrives mid August.

I go ape shit.

It takes two days for Allianz to redo the procurement for the car I initially sourced at DVG Maddington. It could have been done in 10 minutes I expect... but hey, what's the hurry? Fortunately Benny at Maddington has worked hard to keep the other sales staff from selling "my" car. Last night I pleaded with the DP (or Sales Manager) Tony to give me a bit more time to sort out all the idiots involved.

I'm expecting it might even be sorted tomorrow, though I doubt I'll actually have the car. Allianz can stick their insurance, our piss-weak broker Strathearn can blow me, and Jeep Osborne Park best expect some very bad forthcoming publicity.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

My EVIC screen was deliberately on the Oil Life screen when I sent it in, if it was in their face, gave less chance to miss it.

Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - Oil Change Indicator System

How to reset the oil service indicator

The oil change indicator can be reset using the following steps:

A. Vehicles without push-button start:

1. Turn the ignition key to ON but do not start the engine.
2. Slowly depress the accelerator to the floor and release it three times within 10 seconds.
3. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.

B. Vehicles with push-button start:

1. Without pressing the brake pedal, press the ENGINE START/STOP button and cycle the ignition to the ON/ RUN position (Do not start the engine).
2. Slowly depress the accelerator to the floor and release it three times within 10 seconds.
3. Without pressing the brake pedal, press the ENGINE START/STOP button once to return the ignition to the OFF/LOCK position.

C. Vehicles with diesel engines (export models):

1. Cycle the ignition to the "ON/RUN" position (Do not start the engine).
2. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it fully depressed for at least 30 seconds.
3. Press and release the brake pedal six times while holding the accelerator pedal pressed.
4. Perform one ignition OFF-ON cycle, start the engine and verify that the reminder has been reset.

Got hit side on. I was just moving off, the other car was at 60 or so, not braking. It was a decent shove mostly onto the front left wheel.

The young driver appears to have missed the highway entrance leading to their home. I suspect they had diverted attention to their phone navigation to get directions. It'll be interesting what the police report says as I don't think anyone witnessed my turn arrow.

The process for obtaining a replacement car has been an ongoing saga of underwhelming performance by the insurer and our broker. The dishonest conduct of Jeep Osborne Park hasn't helped at all.

I think most of the chit chat about it is in the WK2 Australia thread. Thanks for asking though... I need both a shoulder and soapbox at the moment!

Cheers,
Steve

The irony is Alliance spent lots of airtime on its ads. "Aaaaaaaa". I would suggest NRMA, had claims a few times in the past, no hassle at all.

NRMA used to be good, im going thru a claim at the moment. Found out yesterday that the parts have been ordered and the vehicle is stripped down and ready for them to strart, only problem being the vehicle is not at the panel shop, its in our shed..... then I asked them, why have parts only just been ordered when the aproval for repair was given 5 weeks ago? They had nothing, and now I have to wait 6 weeks for parts to come from Germany. They should have been here next week, which is why I called them yesterday, to make sure it was all still on track.
Bloody hopeless.
