Yes MM, Allianz replaced the vehicle. However the payout terms are different... market value UP TO the sum insured.

Enforcer I looked at the single head Blackvue, but was thinking we'd cave in and get the front/rear units. Running a different cam facing backwards did cross my mind and I should possibly give it more thought. Obviously it's working for you...

Thanks Paul. Unfortunately I have to do the wiring myself... I just can't bear other's quality of work. That's a good price though.

I'll be looking into GIO thanks Snuke, and I'm fascinated by lifetime new for old. I feel very fortunate that the car was written off and that we had new for old. I think it might have been a different story with a 3 year old car... and I've heard enough regarding parts waiting times to be well concerned.

Thanks all,
Steve

U got me thinking. I better check my policy whether it's up to insured value or at insured value.

Mopar mud flaps (front and rear) supply and install $150. Is it a reasonable price?

The term "market" overrides any stated policy value except regarding accessories. It's basically market value, but only up to the policy value.

It's a bit of a scam really. Many people think it's a quasi Agreed Value, but it's just a "cap".

Cheers,
Steve

It must differ between insurers. I had the exact opposite happen where the market value of the vehicle was on par with the repair costs, but they wouldn't write it off as the insured value was a substantial amount more.

$60 is the going rate for each pair, so $30 to fit. Sounds reasonable to me.

Ok don't flame me I'm just asking , why the cameras on the front and rear ? Is it for fun or insurance reasons in case someone hits you or other reasons , I never done anything like this before so I'm just asking out of curiosity why people put these cameras on there cars .

Make sense as insurer would have to pay you more if write it off. New replacement car vs payout, I normally opt for the latter, and buy a replacement myself. A dealer normally doesn't give discount if they know it's for insurance.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

My replacement was cheaper than what we paid... and there's been a price rise since.

Allianz crying poor is probably half of the story behind the delays...

Thats typical of a new model release when purchasing at the beginning of the model run.
