Off topic I know barboots but you did ask!!
Love my Cherman Krautvagon.
Hymer Nova 570 is seven years old now and still going strong, over 50,000k's all over, N,S,E and W.
5.7mtres internal or 19ftr with full ensuite and large cafe dinette.
1400kg tare and 1750kg ag.
Single axle.
Oz van makers are just starting to catch up with lightness and interior design and fitout. Avan frances and New Age single axle comes to mind.
New Laredo crd pulls it easily as most owners will know.
So heres some pics of a seven year old van.
Van facing Whitsundays 60km north of Townsville is one beautiful Park.(Rollingstone)

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Yeah that's a modern look, not just for 7 years old either. I very recently saw stuff that could pre-date your van's interior appearance by decades... selling new for a lot of dough. I suppose some old funny duddies like the van styling of bygone years?

Nice that you praise New Age. Provided I can get the Jeep to a state it can tow in, we pick ours up on Wednesday.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Hi to all,
Haven't posted for quite a while, have been on a 15,000 Km trip with our My 14 grand limited and jayco heritage in tow. We travelled form Melbourne up through Tanunda in the Borrossa valley onto Port augusta, Wipena Pound, coober pedy, Alice Springs, Ayers Rock, Kings Canyon,Darwin, Kununurra and Lake argyle and returned home, Jeep has been absolutely faultless, couldn't be happier with the jeeps performance. Average fuel consumption was 13.1 litres per 100 Kays travelling mostly at 90-100 kph. It was also good to see so many other Grand Cherokees out on the road. On the return trip home had the 30,000k service done at Port Augusta, when I booked service explained that I would be supplying my own oil, when I picked up the car they had performed service with their own 5w30 oil, said I am not going to pay for your oil, so had the service done for just $160. All I paid for was labour and filter, and I still have my mobil esp 5w30 for next service.

It was a Castrol professional 5w30 fully synthetic, which is what my own dealer would have used.

Great to hear that the GC did well G6Jet. I guess now that you're home, you would be in the planning stages of the next big trip...?

Yes SJandL already planning another trip for next year, possibly up the East coast. When do you take delivery of your new Cherokee, saw approx 25 - 30 of them at Wilpena Pound, obviously doing journo drives. Looked very nice in the flesh.

Oh gosh, not sure. Hopefully before Christmas. A guy in Germany (from another forum that is just KL dedicated) has test-driven the diesel, so the diesel has arrived in Germany but in saying that, he is not expecting his order to be delivered until November. Another guy in Belgium has been told to expect his order in September.

So they are in production (the CRD that is), so if I'm to take a punt, then I'm going to go with Oct/Nov.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Oct/nov isn't too long a wait considering the wait we had for the My 14 Grand Cherokee, hope you have as good a run out of the Cherokee as you have had out of your Grand Cherokee, as I said in my earlier post I cannot fault my grand Cherokee so far.

True (about the wait) and yes, I am expecting the same happiness delivered by the Cherokee as WK2 and WK. Good things always come in three's.
