Lee, got a 100% better picture, not whinging about the lack of guidelines. Cant see a great advantage in them.
Concentrating on the fact that Jeep Aust have indirectly admitted they got it wrong in the first place and are installing them on the new MY14 Laredo's.
Doesnt help the 12 months of Laredo deliveries, many many hundreds of them.
Have just gone out and taken night time photos of the rear camera, not complaining now.
Have a look and see if can spot the odd one out.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I've just been told by the dealer my camera won't be fitted upon hand over this week. Appears they have the new cameras in stock but no loom to match. That will take a month to arrive! Told them I will wait, don't want the old one fitted.

Will fit my extra long towing hitch and ball, that'll do as a make shift reversing camera Nudge Nudge ...... literally!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Had the camera fitted today it appears to be the updated model. I am happy with it so far, of course I have not tried at night yet.
On a down side the tech{ and I say that with great sarcasm} that fitted the camera did not bother to reset any of the preset parameters in the Uconnect.
Got in the Jeep and the radio blared out on some weird station, the aircon erupted with a massive blast of air as the temps for the climate control had not been reset. I will have to sit down tomorrow and reset all the parameters.
Can't wait for the follow up call from customer service.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Goodonyer Foglamp,

The floodgates have opened a little bit then. Several owners have had retrofits done now, so it just a matter of pestering them and the right people.

Must say I'm lot happier now, no more warring with Cheap Jeep Australia.
As they say, Ima Lover not a Fighter.

Hope you are happy too, Foglamp

Did I miss something or was the Great Jeep Competition a bit of fizzer at the end. It seemed to instantly dry up after the phone f**k up. No pics of happy smiling new owners in the desert - zip-nothing.

If someone screams in the desert and there is no one to hear it - does the scream actually make a noise?

Is that like the sound of one hand clapping?? Can you actually hear one hand clapping?
And if youre blind can you actually hear one hand clapping at all?? How do you know??
I lay asleep at night thinking about this all night!!

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Just got home today after about 8000km mostly towing our 2750kg van from Brisbane to Alice Springs/Uluru via Plenty Hwy and returning via Oodnadatta Track and Flinders Ranges.

Jeep performed faultlessly (apart from the usual minor U-connect glitches) and handled the towing with ease. Also handled the 4wd tracks with ease although we didn't attempt anything too difficult.

Great to catch up with Baa Baaa in Alice Springs and also Auscop and family.

Plenty of MY14 GCs around and in places a long way from any Jeep dealers.
