Dont forget that the applique/panel comes with that kit too. Replaces the camera hole panel with a moulded panel. My dealer said a new cable had to be run from the tailgate to the Uconnect as well.

I still say FCJ Aust are getting off lightly not only in respect to the retrofit of cameras but also their false and misleading advertising regarding the ParkView tm issue. A lawyer would have them over a barrel on that one as well as ASIC.

Lets hope there are plenty of MY14 Laredo squeaky wheels out there.!!

Hi can anyone tell me how long it takes to get the camera fitted at the dealer? Mine booked in for tomorrow at Tynan Motors, Miranda

mine took all morning last week because they had to re run the camera cable from the tailgate to the radio head.

I wouldn't be rushing them. That's a lot of plastic to pull...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Had a SMS from the Dealer last month saying that the car was booked in for its 12 month 20,000km service. As I pointed out I still reside 1800km away and wont be bringing it in on the day and it has only 14,500km on the clock. She then proceeded to inform me if it does not receive these services as per schedule this could void my future warranty. My question to those in the know is "is this true", and should I get it in for a service.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Can you get it to a local mechanic to do the log book service?

I always thought it had to be in the given month, so for a 6 month interval, if your last service was in February, your next service has to be performed by the end of August. But not sure on that. But yes, if you don't perform the interval service, your warranty is gone. Time or distance, which ever comes first.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Jeep cannot void a warranty. They can deny a warranty claim, but they would need good reasons for it.
If your power window failed for example, they could not say that lack of servicing caused the failure and would need to repair it. However if your motor was to let go and you have not had it serviced as per the schedule, then they would have a good case for denying the claim. You can get it log book serviced at any licensed mechanic and still retain the warranty.

I have never followed the time intervals but the kms I do does make it pretty close and I follow the km intervals for servicing religiously. Never had a problem with warranty claims.

It's 6 months or 10k km whichever comes first. It will void warranty if u don't abide by the rule.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Have the DPF full issue. Driving home, get the message that DPF is near full and to drive at highway speeds etc etc. This is while im doing 100 on the bruce highway, which I drive everyday to work, twice, for 40kms.

Eventually get to a 60 zone, car finally drops down from 8th to 3rd gear, car wont rev above 3000rpm or exceed 60kms.

Great.

Rang dealer, need to take it back for a regen. The ****? Why does the car not do it? The conditions people blame this on is not present in my situation, I do highway driving every working day.

Anway, dealer says this will only happen once, not sure why they seem so confident. Took delivery in May, car has 6300kms on it.

They like to make you think this, but its not the case. I had a new diff put in a 4 yr old hilux under warranty. Thats a whole 12mths after the warranty expired. Oh and it hadn't been serviced at toyota ever. But it did have a service history, and it only had 60,000km. I only serviced every 10,000, not the 6 mths.
