Faulty DPF is one of the causes, so it is very possible yours is one.

Has anyone else that you know of returned to have a regen performed at the dealership?

I certainly hope this is not the case. Being the only vehicle I own and as previously mentioned I drive 40kms to work each day it simply can not be off the road for more than a few hours

Have you seen this thread "Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?" ?

It may help you. Sorry but I don't know how to copy the link here

It's listed here in the Export Grand Cherokee 2011+ section.

The one you talked about is likely to be statutory warranty, not manufacturer's warranty I talked about.

Eventually get to a 60 zone, car finally drops down from 8th to 3rd gear, car wont rev above 3000rpm or exceed 60kms.

Great.

Anway, dealer says this will only happen once, not sure why they seem so confident. Took delivery in May, car has 6300kms on it.

Mine happened at 6500km. Same thing. Dealer regen and no problems since (15000 km now).

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Have we ever actually nailed down exactly what causes the regen issue?

Over 30,000kms now on ours (30324 as of today), an early build (April 5th 2013) and we have never had the regen message or failure.

I'm not sure our driving conditions differ much from others. It still seems a bit of a mystery (to me anyway) why some vehicles suffer but others don't.

Perhaps they are waiting for you to pay for the new Cherokee, before they introduce the "DPF failure" to your car.

The hilux was bought brand new, so I dont thik there was any statutory warranty involved.

Dont forget that the applique/panel comes with that kit too. Replaces the camera hole panel with a moulded panel. My dealer said a new cable had to be run from the tailgate to the Uconnect as well.

I still say FCJ Aust are getting off lightly not only in respect to the retrofit of cameras but also their false and misleading advertising regarding the ParkView tm issue. A lawyer would have them over a barrel on that one as well as ASIC.

Lets hope there are plenty of MY14 Laredo squeaky wheels out there.!!

Bluey
As expected, my dealer denies any knowledge of a new camera. I've given them some information now and am waiting for them to check it out and get back to me.

Why did they need to replace the cable. Is that part of the problem as well.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

I'd like to thank everyone that has posted on this forum - after reading every post over the past 12 months or so, yesterday I ordered new Blackhawk CRD in Cherry Red. Hopefully it won't have any of the issues I've seen discussed, but at least I know about them if it does. I have said I'll wait for the new reversing camera - was told the stock of old cameras will be fitted first until they run out. Looking at accessories - Bossco side steps and nudge bar - looking around for other things. Want to put roof racks on, but the Blackhawk has "dummy" rails on the roof like the SRT, not the tracks. Anyone fitted roof racks to an SRT??

Great.

Rang dealer, need to take it back for a regen. The ****? Why does the car not do it? The conditions people blame this on is not present in my situation, I do highway driving every working day.

Well that sucks, mine is a May car too.

The dealership regen shouldn't take very long, if they can't do it straight away ask for a loaner.

There is a TSB that seems to apply to this issue:
http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_1801814c.pdf

It seems that the system won't go into regen sometimes for some unknown reason, despite driving at highway speeds. Some have suggested it can be because the oil level is too high, or maybe it is a dud sensor or something.

SOME owners have had the issue come back multiple times even after a dealership service burn, in which case the dealers seem to be replacing the dpf.

I'm crossing my fingers!!!
