I have said I'll wait for the new reversing camera - was told the stock of old cameras will be fitted first until they run out. Looking at accessories - Bossco side steps and nudge bar - looking around for other things. Want to put roof racks on, but the Blackhawk has "dummy" rails on the roof like the SRT, not the tracks. Anyone fitted roof racks to an SRT??
Congrats!!

I'm not sure about the roof racks, but I'm guessing you can order the 'bright rails' and fit them. There was a thread in one of the other sub forums where the americans were replacing their black rubber rails with what they call 'bright rails'. They had part numbers etc.

Having said that, uneek are developing a roof rack that replaces the rails and increases the carrying load. I'm holding out for this.

edit: here's the thread on changing over the rails:
Side Roof Rack Rails - NEED HELP PLEASE..

There is a TSB that seems to apply to this issue:
http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_1801814c.pdf

It seems that the system won't go into regen sometimes for some unknown reason, despite driving at highway speeds. Some have suggested it can be because the oil level is too high, or maybe it is a dud sensor or something.

SOME owners have had the issue come back multiple times even after a dealership service burn, in which case the dealers seem to be replacing the dpf.

I'm crossing my fingers!!!
Ok so have had the issue fixed this morning. Drove it to mt gravatt in limp mode (probably could have organised a tow but w/e, figured it wouldnt do any damage as limp mode is designed to minimise any possible damage?). Anyway they got on to it straight away, probably took about 40 minutes

Asked the technician about the issue. He told me the same story ive read here a few times, needed a clean after delivery due to long periods of idling etc. I asked him why it didnt do it while running as per normal operation of the regen function and he said that now it should, that doing a manual regen was like a "brain reboot" for... something. Anyway he was pretty confident that I wouldnt be back with the same issue. Also, he did mention that they do it each time the car gets serviced.

Also, this car was rushed through pre delivery as they prepped the wrong one the night before. So if this is something they are supposed to do it could have been missed.

He didnt say anything about the TSB, i didnt mention it, just thought Id see what happens.

All sorted now, wasnt too much of an issue really. Only technical issue Ive had with it in 6500ks.

Car is 01/14 build. Havent posted in teh DPF thread as I dont want to duplicate posts

Re: Transmission Modes 8-speed auto

What is the difference when driving with ECO 'off' or using 'Sport Mode'? I've tried both when towing and can't really notice any difference between them.

Regards

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Pretty sure there is a difference, for me it seems to hold a lower gear more in sport mode, even when coasting on the freeway. And I think it sends more drive to the rear?

ok, a bit in this thread:

2014 GC Sport Mode

Holds 7th on the freeway, apparently, and lowers QL.

edit: and reduces traction control (?)

Doesn't lower the QL with mine, only in 'sports' mode it lowers.
Haven't really noticed a lot of difference otherwise.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

You need to select sports mode with the gear lever to get it to lower.
Just removing eco does not lower it on my car

Yep, that what I said/meant. In Sports mode it holds a lower gear and lowers to aero (if you have QL), is supposed to reduce traction control, and sends more torque to the rear wheels.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Today I checked the version of my software is 14.05.3 (latest ?)
Then I tried to change the "Engine off options"
The only choice under that is "Headlights off time" HaHa well done S/W dept.

Does anyone have issues trying to turn on Cruise ?
I have to press it numerous times before the indicator stays lit (white).
Only then can I press "+" or "-" to set a speed and indicator lights (green).
Cheers all

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee information - Australia

Regarding the cruise... do you have your foot on the accelerator, actually maintaining headway? I've found mine quite sensitive to this, whereas some other cars will engage cruise irrespective of accelerator input magnitude.

If it's not this, you might have won today's TSB prize

Cheers,
Steve
