Re: 2014 Jeep Overland Map Version among other things

Hi Marty,

It all depends on what you want and when you want it. lets just say I paid less than $70K with towbar, mudflaps and bonnet protector for a Black Overland diesel. I didnt care about servicing etc as our last 2 cars combined over 3 years did 48K, the missus works from home and the crewman was being used to tow the van and just sat in the garage and I will do the oils, etc, etc.

More than happy to take on the Car Dealers/Companys - just a helped a friends daughter get $2000 back and 2 free services from a M***a dealer for ripping her off.

Everything else you dont buy from the dealer. Just picked up a set of OEM Black side steps for $560 delivered.

Just waiting for the 2014 Altitude to come out so I can get some OEM blacked out parts from the US, like the fog light bezels.

Good luck and remember the dealers further out from the city are more likely to do better deals especially the country ones

Good you you chocco, great deal that you got there mate. I'm looking at purchasing later in the year so minimum 2014 plate or may even be 2015. Looking at Overland too. Haven't decided between CRD or Hemi yet.

I've got 3 Dealers in mind. One is close to me and the other 2 are further out, but not country. I'll get serious with those guys around September.

Thanks again chocco,

Marty

September, wow you're keen getting on it now.
It should be MY15 about Oct/Nov.

Ha, ha, ha SNUKE,.. you have no idea mate I've been wanting another Grand Cherokee for the past few years and have been watching their progress with great interest.

F i n a l l y, I'll soon be in a position to get another JGC.

Even though the Grand Cherokee has improved immensely over the years, I'm disappointed to read that the Jeep after-sales service has not. Oh, well, I'm fully aware and better prepared for them this time around.

I may be wrong but I think that if you order anytime after Oct / Nov '14 then that vehicle will be plated as 2015.

Actual delivery date from the order in Oct / Nov '14 will be +5-6 months (March / April '15) I believe.

If they need to build your order then 4-5 months.
Depending on the time of month order placed, but vehicle will go into production about 6 weeks after order received by Jeep US. So only a December order will actually be built in Jan. Build year means something, plate year means nothing.

Thanks SNUKE. I get Build Year but I read the term "plated" all the time but don't really know what that means. So what does this mean:

2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee WK MY2014 Limited (?)

Much appreciated SNUKE, Marty.

Re: 2014 Jeep Overland Map Version among other things

There is model year, build date and compliance date.

Model Year is like the current model which is a MY14 and we saw them hit our shores mid last year. Build date is when it is built and compliance date is when it hits our shores and they comply the vehicle.

2013 is an interesting year, as there was the MY13 & MY14. Everyone would want a MY14 due to the upgrades. This year will be different as the MY15 has very little changes.

Terrific ENFORCER, thankyou. So MY = Model Year. That's where I was getting confused as I thought MY stood for Manufacture Year. All clear now. Cheers

Re: 2014 Jeep Overland Map Version among other things

Yeah, so a car built 30th December 2013 would be: 2013, MY14, plated 2014.

The two important details for resale are build and model year.
