Hey all. So there has been a lot of great info provided on this site for various projects so I'd like to contribute one. I bought a 20" dual row LED light bar from a popular auction site ;)

Have to say I'm very happy with it. Lights up a very long way down the road. I drive an hour each way to work as a shift worker I'm out at the worst times of the day for Kangaroos that tend to commit suicide on peoples cars and trucks!

Doing some testing at night has shown it provides a very good spread of approx 50-100m to the sides of the roads and I'd estimate approx 1km (but at this distance only road reflectors could be seen) viewable distance. Practical distance would be around 500m which is just fine for me.

I initially tried to mount it in the lower Air Dam but the plastic inster that directs air up to the radiator got in the way so I bought a license plate mount. Im very happy with it located here too.....

PS - For those wanting the High Beam connection - this is it marked in blue....From memory it was a light brown with an orange stripe...(this is the drivers side headlight connection of a RHD Export model)

I found it easy to remove the coolant reservoir in order to get to this connection....

Looks cool, I have been looking for something similar, but wondered if the curve of the bumper would interfere with installing one of the plate mounts. Is this mounted to the plate bracket, or the bumper itself? Is there much visible road vibration when the lights are on? Did you reinforce the mount?

Thanks!

The light is mounted to the bracket. the bracket is mounted via the original 2 screws to the bumper plus I added another set of two, but if I was to remove it all, the number plate will cover it all up anyway.

Its VERY solid and the only vibration thats evident is on rutted dirt roads and thats it!

I guess you must live in a place where people do that sort of thing to cars!

I also wanted the built in look but these bars simply won't fit behind the grille in the air dam due to the air scoop for the radiator.
A single row led bar will fit but not dual row.

One other thing I'm contemplating is putting in 2 smaller bars on either side of the scoop but I want to find ones that equal the total output power of my current bar (126w).
I'm also going to install some led amber fog lights down there too.....

This is a 20" flood & spot combo, 10 watt.
Just a word of warning, be sure to get a heavy duty loom or you will be replacing it a couple of hours.

I used the auto/marine rated 15A cable. Doing fine so far.....

126w at 12v is 10.5A. Used a 10A fuse on the relay though and still going strong....I drive almost every night using them with my high beams and all is looking good still :)
