Re: 2014 New Jeep Questions - fogging, tailgate locking

From the ownerís manual (I didnít read that section either).

"The power liftgate buttons will not operate if the vehicle is in gear or the vehicle speed is above 0 mph (0 km/h)".

The tailgate will crack the shits if you start driving away while itís closing, it goes back up, contrary to what the ownerís manual says.

"If your liftgate is power closing and you put the vehicle in gear, the liftgate will continue to power close. However, vehicle movement may result in a detection of an obstruction."

You know how the car beeps at you when it goes out of range, yeah, have that for more than 30 seconds and see how you like it. She got out of the car and got into the horse float instead.
Yes, car was still running with me 60 odd metres away with fob in pocket.

Re: 2014 New Jeep Questions - fogging, tailgate locking

Thanks for the input though I am confused. I have always done this and NEVER had fogging in the other cars or any problems caused by it.

Can you explain why this will cause issues for the HVAC and why running the HVAC will guarentee fogging when all its doing to the air inside the car is drying it out ? This doesnt make sense to me.

BTW I also get fogging when in Auto mode, only the front defrost button seems reliable in avoiding fogging.

thanks.

Re: 2014 New Jeep Questions - fogging, tailgate locking

Try turning up the inside temp.
I find when I get inside fogging and want to demist the windows I'll run the AC but I'll also turn up the heat a couple of degrees. This usually solves all my problems.

I have mine normally on 22 but I'll temporarily run it at 24 or 25 so as to quickly warm the air as well as de-humidify it.

Seedar, I get the same problem, in exact same conditions as you described. It could be residual moistured air coming from the windscreen vents when not in use.

The temperature control in this car has a mind of it's own. I have the temperature set at 20 degrees and it blows out air at 40 degrees. I think it does this because it is 5 degrees outside.

'Auto' mode is useless, can't set it to 'recycle' and can't have the A/C going. I have to have the A/C on whether it is cold or hot.
