mt gravatt admitted they hadn't fitted it to a my14 before and last time they did rock rails it took 6hrs !

Lordy!! Big difference...

Thanks for sharing

I am also keen on getting these for my overland when it arrives... Certainly the underbody protection... Not 100% sure on rock rails yet - depends how it looks - would love to see pics..

Is there a link available to these items?

Are the underbody protection plates an alternative to the underbody protection plate offered by the guy making one here in Brissy (I have read about it on this site somewhere that the MOPAR ones are thin / flimsy??)

Thanks again,

Kind regards,

Brad.

That link I gave earlier shows some picks of them on:
Hibernator's WK2 build up - Page 4 - AUSJEEPOFFROAD.COM - AJOR

If you want more of an offroad look, they are good, not a great step though if that is what you prefer.

The bash plates are the ones in the offroad adventure pack. They aren't all that flimsy. The flimsy bit is the front skid plate that all GCs have. It is made of plastic and carpet:
Front skid plate for WK2?

Chief Products on the Gold Coast are making something that replaces this bit:

Uneek sells something similar.

Re: About to Buy a Jeep GC in Brisbane - Advice Needed.

so i had the rails and skid set installed at frizelles.

not impressed with them, despite their reputation on here.
was quoted ~3-4hrs @ $133/hr

ended up taking 9hrs !
dropped car off at 815am didn't get car back til 530pm
sat around australia fair most of the day then at the dealer lounge which didn't have much there for 2hrs

they charged me $598 in the end

haven't had time to even look at them, as by the time i got back to brisbane it was dark

Didn't they give you a fixed quote? This should be simple, standard stuff for the dealers.

Oh yeah, it's a full day job. I think I'll do mine myself.

Got pics?

Yeah, I'll do it myself.... looks a pain in the ass, but I trust myself.

Other than the scratch, those rails look good...

Re: About to Buy a Jeep GC in Brisbane - Advice Needed.

Update:

My 2014 built GC overland TD was initially to arrive in March.

In March - it was "delayed"

This then changed to June!!!! (Through Mt Gravatt)

I shopped elsewhere (springwood) and was promised they had one arriving April 30th - so I bought it - and cancelled the other one.

I made contact to ensure everything is on track given the delivery date is just around the corner.

Turns out the car doesn't even dock in Brisbane until 13th May!!

With a couple of weeks to unload on wharf and predelivery etc - it will be June also.

I'm not sure at what stage I was going to be notified....

Or even how April 30 date was born, given the Mt Gravatt Dealer knew in March they were arriving for delivery in June.

So far less than impressed with service and they don't even have my cash... How bad will it be when they do?

Lets just say, service is not Jeeps strong point. Nor is communication, or parts supply, or even caring for the customer.

Price gouging, lying and letting the customer down time and time again are what Jeep is all about.

If you get one that works, you'll love it, but if you have an issue, prepare yourself for the experience.

Re: About to Buy a Jeep GC in Brisbane - Advice Needed.

The GC Limited 3.6L was ordered in March and I have been trying to learn as much as I can from you guys before it arrives.

The cryptic type comment I got from the contract manager when we signed "check the car fully as you will sign for as delivered, when you pick it up" made me think I need a list of things to check when I'm there and the WOW factor overwhelms the need to correctly check the vehicle.

With a little research from Jeep Garage and me being anally retentive, I developed this list.
It provides me with prompts of items to check when the day arrives.

MMAG4x4 - you may want to add -Check Oil Life to your list as well. It should be at 100%. It is on the EVIC as a sub-menu under Vehicle Info.
