Hey There - I posted this under the WK2 Diesel Export section and got referred to x-post here for a little more exposure... Any info would be appreciated :)

Hey all - first post here, found this forum after doing a bunch of research and following link after link, read through some really good information on here!

Anyway, I am very close to pulling the trigger on a GC Diesel Limited here in Australia. I had borrowed a 2011 Petrol GC from work and absolutely loved it to the point I didn't want to give it back so thought I would get my own, but wanting to cut down a little on fuel from my guzzling Commodore I thought I would go Diesel.

Turns out they are super hard to find at reasonable prices second hand - but I have found a 2011 Limited in super good condition, it has done 80,000km, always serviced at Jeep dealership with nothing really standing out. I had a drive and wow it was incredible especially compared to the petrol variant.

But, I just wanted to know if there is anything I should look out for, I was a little concerned with the fact it had done 80,000km at first but considering it is a Diesel I guess this is ok. The previous owner had no complaints and traded it in for a 2014 GC Limited.

I can rack up some serious KM's myself averaging maybe 150km a day for work, 95% of this driving is on freeways though so constantly on cruise at 100km which I have heard is really good with these diesel jeeps.

But yeah, if there is anything I should be looking out for I would love to hear your thoughts

Cheers

That is a lot of kms for a 3 year old car, so you should get a good price.

Get the dealer to confirm all recalls and service bulletins have been completed. Get a list and the brains trust here can confirm if all done.

Does the car have air suspension? Quadradrive? Off road adventure pack? Front recovery hooks?

Thanks mate - It does not have Quadradrive, air suspension, adventure pack or front recovery hooks. I have spoken to the previous owner who confirmed it was never driven off-road, he never even towed with it. I don't plan on driving off-road either but will be towing my boat.

I will chase up what recalls have been done on the vehicle, I spoke to the service department when I originally looked at it and they confirmed that everything was up to date though.

Like others here, I tow and I'm sure you will be very happy in that regard with the GC.

Call me a sceptic, but if all the updates / recalls are done the dealer should have no problems giving you a printout.
