ACC camera protection

Does anyone know if anything has been made to protect the ACC camera?

I've heard if you take a decent hit to the bumper when off-roading it has a habit of breaking the camera. I spend a bit of time on the beach and it's not practical to take off the bumper (I have a 3hour highway drive before I hit the beach) so I wondering what people are doing?

Re: ACC camera protection

Well I've not broken the ACC lens but twice the lens has been dislodged from its mount with clips broken - and not from a massive bump. Each time has cost $180 to get it fixed by replacing the clips - which is very dear for the effort required. Have had a whinge about it and I'm just told the clips are designed to break to protect the lens - ridiculous. It's a definite design fault for a vehicle that's meant to go off road. Chief Products is designing a lower fascia which hopefully will be a good fix.

Re: ACC camera protection

Thanks mate, I've seen Chiefs thing and I'm definitely interested in it but just wondering if something else might be out there, I'm thinking some form of metal surround that can withstand any force from the bumper.
