Hi, Anyone know if its possible to get parts to retrofit the twin USB charging sockets to a Laredo ? I know it would be easy to do this with third party bits but would be nice to do it as per limited if not too costly.....
seedar did you have any luck doing this mod? I am thinking about doing the same thing and wanted to see if you did this yet and have any recommendations. Thanks.
I haven't done it yet but wanted to find a good quality USB charging unit to use prefereably with twin 2.1A outlets. The best I have found so far is the Narva unit model 81134BL as seen here: Heavy Duty Accessory Sockets - Products - Narva
Now I just need to find out if I can find instructions on how to take apart that center console to install it just below the heater outlets where the US models have the 110V inverter - should be plenty of space there and connect from the power outlet in the centre console cigarette lighter which is always on.

Nikon858 has a pretty good guide to pulling the centre console apart to replace the the CD player with a full size bin.
Should give you an idea how to get to the rear section to mount your new USB outlets
Agree its not very factory but it outputs 2.3A so it will charge all smartphones and tablets. I am looking to install this in the rear in a housing or directly in the middle where the factory unit would be located. Power will come from the existing socket inside the centre console.
Yes they look good, I have bought two - now to do the install, also I want to check what they draw in standby, see if I need to be able to switch them off.....
I sent Baintech a question but no response at all.....
Finally installed ! Also I measure the standby current and it appears to be about 10mA or less so that seems good. The sockets in these Baintech units seems quite tight so hoping repeated plugging in and out isnt going to loosen the fitting. Will have to see how that goes.
