Hi, Anyone know if its possible to get parts to retrofit the twin USB charging sockets to a Laredo ? I know it would be easy to do this with third party bits but would be nice to do it as per limited if not too costly.....

Hi,

I haven't done it yet but wanted to find a good quality USB charging unit to use prefereably with twin 2.1A outlets. The best I have found so far is the Narva unit model 81134BL as seen here: Heavy Duty Accessory Sockets - Products - Narva

Now I just need to find out if I can find instructions on how to take apart that center console to install it just below the heater outlets where the US models have the 110V inverter - should be plenty of space there and connect from the power outlet in the centre console cigarette lighter which is always on.

Let me know how you go !

Nikon858 has a pretty good guide to pulling the centre console apart to replace the the CD player with a full size bin.
Should give you an idea how to get to the rear section to mount your new USB outlets

Finally installed ! Also I measure the standby current and it appears to be about 10mA or less so that seems good. The sockets in these Baintech units seems quite tight so hoping repeated plugging in and out isnt going to loosen the fitting. Will have to see how that goes.
