Re: Air bag light

Following on from my list of warranty issues, I had the rear screen replaced today as the demister was not working due to a wire / connector that had come adrift. Service dude told me they retail at $2,500 plus fitting.

I guess I must be up to $10k worth of warranty / rectification work over the last 2.5 years.

But my original air bag light issue remains unresolved. The light hasn't come back on since the dealer fiddled with it last service, so they are unable to get authorisation from JA to fit the new loom. But its now on record so if it comes back on it will be covered in the future.

Re: Air bag light

While I was away in Vic earlier this week my airbag light came back on for an hour or so. Out again now but I'm back to the dealer next Wednesday. Hopefully the car has stored a code that they can pick up but I've told the dealer it's their car till its fixed once and for all.

Re: Air bag light

Dropped the car back to Castle Hill today for the 'nth time to see if they can fix the airbag light. I have grown to hate going to the dealer. And who is that guy on the eastern end of the counter - what an old grump.

And sorry, but a photo of my future car? Just the way I'm feeling at the moment. Sick of all the niggly problems....

Re: Air bag light

Car is having a nite at the dealer - surprise - they didn't have the part ( wiring loom) they needed. Lucky we have spare work cars I could take home.

Air bag light

Call from the dealer - they replaced the loom but airbag light still on. Need more parts and waiting for JA to advise them when they will be available. Could be weeks.

I'm going to collect the car tonight with its little airbag light still shinning brightly - who knows when it might be fixed.....

Oh - And its Mark.

Talking to the service dude when I picked up the car apparently the stored code indicates an "open circuit" associated with the seat airbag. They need a particular wiring loom part but it is not listed on their parts list. So they took a photo of the bit and have emailed to JA Melbourne tech people to try and work out the part to order. I ended up ringing JA myself and now have a case number. Hopefully the dealer is now talking to the tech people and they can get something sorted.

I won't hold my breath...

Re: Air bag light

So after 10 months and I guess 10 trips to the dealer finally the correct replacement wiring harness was replaced in the drivers seat. But only after I chased Jeep Australia customer service and got them to step in and assist the dealer with the correct part and authorisation to proceed under warranty. Hopefully the airbag light is now resolved, touch wood.....
