Is this some sort of record?

I have just scared myself by finding my own old thread and discovered that my issues with airbag lights started in November '13. So an unresolved problem for 18 months. A record?

Dropped my car off to dealer today to let them have another crack at fixing the problem, initially they told me I would have to wait 3 weeks as they were so busy and "had been inundated with recall work". Anyway, when I explained to them that the airbag light made the car unroadworthy they relented and booked me in.

Dropped it off to the same guy at the counter as the previous times - that was fun. Told him they could keep it till it is fixed, otherwise if they liked they can buy it back off me. ho ho ho.

Also there is a recall for exhaust hose - something to do with the EGA valve? They are going to do that too.

That's odd. Just had my GC serviced a few days ago, and nothing was mentioned about that recall.

First time have heard of this issue
I am not sure the dealers can be trusted to this work correctly
I fear they will just fill radiator up with water

So no word from the dealer today - looks like going to be car-less for the weekend. Will have to steal no. 1 sons Pug GTI.

I have never been contacted about the recalls associated with my car. They are supposed to.

I just had my 70k service and when I booked it in they said they needed the car all day to be able to replace the EGA hose , first I had heard of this.

Well my car has been off the road for more than a week at the dealer and they have been unable to resolve the airbag light fault. Basically they have taken the drivers seat out, jiggled the loom, connectors and the light is out at the moment - but no permanent fix. There is clearly something dodgy in the loom that keeps throwing a fault code intermittently but exactly what it is unclear. Dealer is going to log the issue with JA and see if they can give direction on what to do. Good luck with that.....

So the fault logging is definitely flagging the driver's seat specifically? Did they let you in on the exact fault code data?
