Re: Almost into a Jeep

Stick with the Mineral. Looks awesome on the road and doesn't need to be cleaned evertime it rains!

Re: Almost into a Jeep

This was my first new car and the colour was the hardest choice of all. We didnt have all these colours to choose from so it was a little easier if i was getting one now id go Max steel all the way. Although im very happy with brilliant black. IMO you should choose MG. MS is quite similar style to the TB it's dark and also has a slight blue tinge.

Good on ya Matty, excellent choice!

In the current colour range, Max Steel is on the money for me!

Re: Almost into a Jeep

I never planned to buy a Jeep but this is how ended up ordering one. With savings of 30k …

First looked at focus trend (25k) – which was a great car, but found not much space in the back to fit 3 people.
Then looked at mondeo (36k)- Was a good car but felt like it is there is not much difference between mondeo and a used FG falcon, and I would be better of buying a used FG falcon.
Then looked at kia sorento and sportage (40 45k). Sorento looked liked a van from back but had 8 seats (misses didn’t like the looks). Sportage was a good looking and the diesel engine pulled the car alike a vt/vx commodore. Sportage did not feel stable around corners and had the unstable feeling.

Then decided why pay 40-45k for kia when you can pay another 5-6k and get a GC CRD. Although we were well over the budget of 30k, it made sense to buy something bigger and better in long term. Given the long wait time it worked well as I have time to save up to buy the GC outright.

Nice thought process. Mine was the exact opposite. Toyota Landcruiser 200 series GXL to volvo xc90 to prado to Jeep, Value for money can't be beat. I was effectively getting vehicle with the same specs as a VX prado worth 80+K for 55K I was nearly 30K ahead.

Re: Almost into a Jeep

Funny....I always saw myself into a TD Territory until I actually saw it released.
Last month I bought a new Focus Titanium diesel to replace my wifes current Volvo XC90 V8, so in the space of a month we've gone from "high performance" V8 and turbo petrol SUV's (god I hate that term) to a diesel hatch and a diesel 4WD....
Go figure..

Re: Almost into a Jeep

Spoke to my dealer today, they couldn't find a Mineral Grey Overland CRD that hasn't been allocated to any dealer so I'm now on the bandwagon with others and waiting for mine to be built.

Just became a member here so I'll try and get some details of my order from the dealer in a couple of weeks and then contact Milous and obtain the build sheet and begin tracking it.
Not that I have any influence over how it proceeds, but it will be nice to have some timeframe references.

Re: Almost into a Jeep

Start leaning towards September is my guess.
If I were in your position, I would go for a MY13 build and get the Harmon stereo.

We have a GC with air suspension, we use a weight distribution hitch because it not only helps to raise the rear of the vehicle but also throws some weight on to the front wheels. This results in safer steering and braking. The self levelling feature will make the car look nice and level but you will not have the same control as when a WDH is properly fitted. The WDH also stops the vehicle from pitching fore and aft on our bad whoa-boy roads. I would not tow a heavy trailer without it. (40 years of towing with many different rigs)
