Antenna, broke. Need new.

So i drove into the garage door and the antenna clipped into the sectional door and snapped. Managed to drill into the bolt remains in the antenna socket. What is a good fit sharkfin antenna and from where? Preferred if painted to suit, mineral grey.

2012 JGC Limited.

Re: Antenna, broke. Need new.

Try the boys at Visual Garage. I have a VG Sharks fin on my Holden. No issues and it's been there since 2012.

Re: Antenna, broke. Need new.

Yep. I have the Visual Garage sharkfin on my Mineral Grey one.
No dramas with it at all.

I replaced the standard rubber one as it interfered with stuff that I occassionally carry on the roof bars.

Antenna, broke. Need new.

I drilled the broken bolt out and the whole screw mount can turn freely. Do you think I've damaged the cable inside?

Re: Antenna, broke. Need new.

I think I still have my rubber ducky OEM antenna from my 2011 CRD if it helps.
I replaced it with a shark fin years ago.

Don't think I can fit the oem on without a new mount. Might have busted the thread with the drill. I'll get a sharkfin- bloody exe for what it is though, especially with the U.S. Dollar being as such, works out to around a$150 when I quoted.

Re: Antenna, broke. Need new.

It is a lot (for us in Aus) but I have not regretted the purchase. I had mine painted in Aus to get the exact match for the Holden paint code. Should not have that issue with them matching the Jeeps code.

Re: Antenna, broke. Need new.

If you have damaged the thread on the roof mounted piece then you will to repair that first before fitting the shark fin, as they still have a lead that screws into the body of the original aerial mount, then the shark fin sits over the top and is held down with double sided tape.

Re: Antenna, broke. Need new.

Thanks I figured that, but I think I could possibly retro fit the lead with a tapped screw to hold it place . So long as it touches.

Forgot to reply to this, ended up trying the aliexpress ones at $40. They come painted to suit the jeeps colour range.
