Anyone had this with their transmission

Tonight. After no recent changes or without reason my transmission was not changing from gear 2-3 or 3-4. At was at 60-70kms and at 6500 revs and would not change.

Will go for another drive later to see if any change.

The gear would change fine when I used the paddles but not in auto mode

Anyone had this?

If you drive a diesel, maybe a DPF regeneration was underway.

Diesel redlines at 4500rpm. Must be the petrol v6, sounds like it's broken, if it keeps doing this on subsequent drives then take it to the dealer.

Re: Anyone had this with their transmission

I have had this one or twice. Although it might have continued to 6500 rpm, I did not take it this far. It seems to have occurred when in economy mode which is a bit slow to pick up revs when needed. When I want to accelerate quickly it eventually begins to get going but if I quickly back off and accelerate again it gets confused and seems to hold that gear. The fix is to select another mode (paddles, sports) or what I do, back off the throttle to let it recalculate, then slowly accelerate again.

As this is a rare occurrence of computer confusion, it does not bother me.

My neighbor and I were talking Jeeps yesterday as he noticed my new 2016 HA- He recently sold his as he had a similar issue and his GC would not shift out of 3rd. Dealership told him they found nothing wrong.... after some research and a second opinion he found out there were 30,000+ drivers w/ similar issues and a new tranny was needed. He was at 65k miles and choose to dump it for a Honda Pilot. Hopefully, you have your warranty still and it is not as serious as his problem.
