5.Or Care factor?
Ok looking at posts I need to add:

6.Price of Parts?

US could only really influence 1, 2, maybe 3&6

I'd imagine dealers would even use it. In the first instsnce, i'll sign the petition and if we don't get any satisfaction. I'd be willing to be part of a committee to start a buying cooperative.
HI Mendo,
Are using Cricks? (I think that's the dealer) at the Sunny Coast. If so, I wonder what your service experience was. Cheers.

Re: Anyone Interested In Petitioning HQ in US?

Ok folks......

Scott has kindly made this thread into a Sticky for us.

Please encourage all with genuine issues to post their interest on this thread. Over the next week or so we should have a significant number of us interested in adding names to the list.

In a few days I'll go through the posts and make an interim list of us that we can add new guys over the next week or so.

Count me in, had to reschedule our 10.000km service( no oil filter what a joke)
Also had to wait over a month for other parts( rear shocks done twice, rear diff mount still waiting)
Not going to mention incompetent staff at dealer, that's standard in Darwin

I feel your pain ... Kerry's are killing me. Put my car in for it's 10,000 service and left it with them for four days. Only to pick it up and they didn't do it as they had no filter. I asked why didn't you call, they said we didn't to bother me!

Re: Anyone Interested In Petitioning HQ in US?

Yep, count me in.

I just got off the phone from the Chrysler Jeep customer assistance who said that they are aware of a problem with the Jeep Grand Cherokee navigation system and they are waiting for a fix from the states. They have no timeline and don't know when it will be rolled out to the dealers.

I think there are two issues as discussed above.

1) The maps are hopelessly out of date (years)

2) The software running the nav system is flawed.

This is not good enough as it has been 6+ months they have been working on this.

The system in Perth is practically unusable.

On a recent country trip I had to use our old trusty TomTom and stuck that to the window as the route that the built in Nav system wanted to take us was an hour longer on a 3 hour trip.

Re: Anyone Interested In Petitioning HQ in US?

I reckon if we have 100 signatures/members, that should be more than enough. adding to list...

1.Parts availability?
2.Knowledge Transfer?
3.Trained Service Department?
4.Poor Service?
5.Or Care factor?
6.Cost of Parts?
7. Jeep Aus Part Lead time compared to ordering your self.
8. Lack of communication /order statues after ordering
9. incompetence performing service
10. unavailability of basic items such as oil filters for service

Re: Anyone Interested In Petitioning HQ in US?

are we able to setup a survey with the questions so that all you need to do is check the boxes, and that will also provide some evidence that users are genuine and are not selecting more than once

Re: Anyone Interested In Petitioning HQ in US?

One other issue on which Jeep is dragging their feet a but is the fix for sand driving. This has been a known issue for at least 6 months and still there is no fix. Even though this particular issue does not affect day to day driving, the reason why we bought the GC was not just for day-to-day driving. Interestingly none of the sales people seem to know about this issue (which is convenient for Jeep) and the service guys blames it on their US counterparts for not coming up with a fix. I see more and more vehicles getting bogged down in sand with the four wheel disengaging due to this error. Many of them have to be recovered and towed away which can cost a fair bit of money.

Re: Anyone Interested In Petitioning HQ in US?

As of today 27 July 2012, the following have registered an interest in petitioning JeepUS to assist us in protecting our investment in their product by calling their Australian operation to account namely to lift its game in terms after sales service, solid "in stock" parts inventory and the issue of price gauging.

Listed in date order of interest:

Aussiewk2
Scarps
Enforcer
Icrisps
Riccardi
allypally
fix69er
zzkazu
GMWK2
Gribbs
Magoomba
just4fun
GlennR
BobT
Mendo
yoda42
Swampy

If your name is not on this list and you would like to be included in the petition please add your name to this thread.

As mentioned previously, we would have to include real names, VINS and probably email addresses which I am happy to volunteer to receive if you send to me as a PM.

We'll then prepare a realistic list of concerns and jointly send 1 email for a response.

We'll wait and give more folk a chance to add their names to the list and probably send email off say this time next week.

Cheers
