Re: Anyone Interested In Petitioning HQ in US?

I haven't picked mine up yet, GC Laredo Jet edition, but you guys have got me worried.
Add me to the list.
I have been in the automotive industry for over 30 years and I can assure you all companies have major issues, My wife and I have had chrysler products for a while now and parts have always been an problem. I usually order service parts from the US or pick them up when I'm there (Filters, etc)

Good Luck.

Hi adamt, you shouldn't be too worried, there are lots and lots of current WK2 owners very happy with their new Jeep (see thread on this forum called 'Is anyone happy with their WK2).
A summary of our concerns are that when something is found to be deficient or faulty, it takes too long to get a fix or an answer from Jeep Aus.
Sat nav's, recovery hooks, faulty trims, no oil filters, have all been fixed eventually, but if an owner has been unfortunate to fit into one of these categories, we seem to have to get angry before anyone takes the matter seriously.
Have to admit I'm enjoying seeing all the Jeep ad's with the Olympics. Makes me feel proud to be an Australian and a Jeep owner.
Oh and the other thing, we hate it when there is something wrong as it makes it hard to stick it up Toyota and Nissan owners. (smug b@strds)

Re: Anyone Interested In Petitioning HQ in US?

yes I am happy with my one so far, driver in a brand new Toyota 200 Series Land Cruiser diesel was checking out my jeep, then decided to show off and race me at the lights. not sure what he was thinking .

I am wondering why wheels fall off this petition? Did the originator of this thread got singled out and given a golden hand shake by jeep Australia ?? (eg: free tow hooks etc?)

Hi Scarps

I am wanting to order a overland but am hanging back because of a few of the problems i am hearing and reading about, but from what im reading here u have said that the sat nav problem has been fixed, is this correct as i have not been able to find out that it has been fixed. I noticed you did not say anything about the sand 4wd service light.

I have been wanting to order this car for the last 2 years but as the CRD was not out then i settled for a Captiva on a 2 year lease. it is going to run out in December and was going to order ASAP but the problems i have been reading about is making want to go to some thing else or at least try wait till 2014 which i would hope could be here by may june hopefully maybe. I doubt it when looking at the SRT8.

So If you are any one can confirm the out standing Problems that cant be fixed can they please be listed?

Geokep

This guy might be a good target to send the petition to. They are still focussed on sales, it is encouraging though the critical mass he is talking about will also bring us benefits in hopefully better parts supply and pricing.

My understanding is that there is a TSB fix for the satnav that includes moving the GPS antenna to a new location under the dash. I don't have the satnav in my Laredo so may need someone else to confirm. There was a separate forum thread on this.

The challenge with the sand driving is that it doesn't seem to affect everyone. Again not driven on the sand yet, so why I haven't included.

I was speaking to the nsw service manager today and he believes they will finally be releasing a software upgrade to fix the 4wd service light issue by the end of August or early September. I warned him today about the publicity this will get if this doesn't prove to be a fix, and he was confident that it would all be sorted with the upgrade

Was that the same Service guy who stated that a fix for the Navigation would be this month?
I am beginning to think they make it up as they go.

Re: Anyone Interested In Petitioning HQ in US?

Jepp AU should rename their TSB to TBS, as we are feeling very unloved by the constant "it will be fixed soon" line. Most service departments are great at giving us Total Bull Shit.

Re: Anyone Interested In Petitioning HQ in US?

Just read this thread aboutr pentastar heads ... http://www.jeepgarage.org/showthread...017#post670017

In the article it refers to a guy called Doug Betts, Chrysler's Senior Vice President for Quality.

Maybe he should be included as an addressee on the letter.

Well what can you expect. The guys that run dealerships are simply "used car salesmen" that happen to be selling new cars. While I have lambasted mechanics before, I feel sorry the guys that have to work for dealerships. I know what pressure they are under to cut costs.
