Re: Anyone regret buying the GC?

When I first took delivery of mine I totally regretted the purchase and would have happily taken my money back and bought something else. I could not believe all the drama and lack of parts here in Australia!

After near on 3 months of fighting with Jeep Aust and the Dealers the fault was finally found and rectified.

I still feel that most of the problems with the cars are made worse by the no care attitude you unfortunately receive from the Dealers and ultimately Jeep Australia!

Although I really could have done without the issues at first, I am now very happy with the performance, economy and ride comfort and if I was buying another car tomorrow I would definately be looking at another Grand

Re: Anyone regret buying the GC?

I absolutely love my Jeep. This is my second Jeep and I will definitely be getting a 3rd. Unfortunately the dealers are a bit dopey on average, but it is my experience that the Jeep is no less reliable than the other brands. I've had the opportunity to take hilux, pajero, and land cruisers off road (and on) and I would take the Jeep any day.

Mind you, we downgraded her Volvo XC90 to a Ford Focus as she didn't want a big car herself anymore, therefore it was my turn to drive the big 7 seater, but I just couldn't find anything I wanted in that configuration and the Jeep ticked all MY boxes, but not hers...

Exactly in the same position, wife naggs that I didnt get a 7 seater for that coin. Yet I also can't find a 7 that I like.

Re: Anyone regret buying the GC?

I have bought 3 GCs in the last 2 years now. The only regret I have is not just waiting to get the Summit in the first place

I have truly enjoyed all each and every single one of them. As well as Jeep in general. I bought my wife a Patriot for her last year and she loves it!

Re: Anyone regret buying the GC?

I regret my purchase every-damn-day.

I'm on my second one. My first Limited was repurchased due to the vibration in the steering that they could not get corrected. That issue was there from day one. I test drove a different one than I purchased, so maybe that's on me? Either way, it's gone.

I told them from the start I only wanted a new car, not a repurchase since I loved everything about it but the problem. Proof of that, I ended up upgrading to an Overland for the next one. The vibration in the steering was not there. However, around 5k miles it started. After balancing the tires they actually made it far worse. It's now in service and been there for a few days now.

Given they are taking me down the same road I lived with the old car, i'm certain this is not going to be fixed nor should I have to deal with this again for a $47,000 vehicle. This is not acceptable. My life for the past year should not involve over 11 trips to a dealer for service. It's a crock of shit. Sorry if fowl language is frowned upon. There is no other way to describe this.

Jeep has a problem with these cars and they are playing stupid. The dealers will not acknowledge that it exists and "we've never heard of this" yet there is a TSB for this.

Can you tell I'm a little angry? I've been at this over a year between 2 cars. I'm done. I do not want this fixed. I want the car gone.

Enjoy your car(s) that actually work correctly.

I'm guessing the problem here is you kept taking it back to a dealer who can not correct alignment and balancing problems. All dealers and tire shops are bad at correcting these things for 4x4. You need to take it to a good 4x4 suspension shop and fork out $150, and you'll be driving away laughing.

Re: Anyone regret buying the GC?

Someone posted the correct specs here after going to a decent (non dealer) place a while ago.
Benn0, I'm counting on you to remember where.

Re: Anyone regret buying the GC?

Hmmm. Think I might have the specs somewhere. I had issues with wheel alignment - two non dealers buggered it up but the dealer sorted it in the end. I'll have a look.....

Re: Anyone regret buying the GC?

6 months in. No regrets. Came from a fully loaded Camaro SS oh and did i say moderately modded. This beast has potential but like others have said im using this for its purpose of rain, long family trips and hauling some quads. No issues thus far. I will get another weekend toy in the future but this is an entire different animal.
