ANZAC Day parade- "I bought a Jeep"
The Canberra ANZAC Day parade was witnessed by the Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove standing side by side to His Royal Highness Prince William, Duke of Cambridge. Traditionally the parades include a small convoy of open top Land Rovers with returned servicemen unable to march. As the convoy passed in front of the dignitaries, the ABC TV commentator referred to the vehicles collectively as Jeeps. To be fair, there was a Willys amongst them.
PS: This is just an observation and not intended to cast dispersions on the solemness of the occasion. However, I make no apology to any irreverence cause to Land Rover owners.
