It's 50mm longer in "chassis rails" which would not make it any stronger than the Euro/Aus version

Could be made from a thicker guage steel. Who knows. Can anyone out there help?

Re: ARB Bullbar Delayed

Either way, when chief products release their hooks, I'll be mounting and using them.

I'm sure Milous would be able to assist us, as he would have seen both on the production line. Just not sure if he's monitoring this end of town

Re: ARB Bullbar Delayed

It has been mentioned many times before, the rails are exactly the same, it is the radiator support panel (or crosscar framework) that is different. This is the area that is missing the threaded attachments for the US style recovery hooks.

Cheers

Re: ARB Bullbar Delayed

My WK2 has a chassis. It's called rock rails. They won't be bending any time soon.

Anyway, the argument over which structural principle is stronger is fallacious unless one talks of equal weight of materials in which case the unibody wins by miles. It's a variant of monocoque which is an extremely efficient structural principle used extensively in aerospace. As you know, a beam's strength is largely determined by its depth. I don't know how deep a chassis is but I would guess at a few inches. The unibody acts as a truss or space frame if you like with a depth from the top of the roof to the bottom of the battery compartment making it immensely rigid and allows designers to use much lighter materials for comparable strength.

Re: ARB Bullbar Delayed

Seems the ARB bar is finally available for 2011 to 2013 WK2s, with 2014 to come shortly.

Deluxe bar | Products | ARB 4x4 Accessories

Will have a 2014 Laredo in 2 weeks so will now have to review the 3 options (Uneke, ECB and ARB).

Cheers

Jim

Re: ARB Bullbar Delayed

Hey Yoda,
is that a Trailhawk grille you have now? Doesn't look shiny anymore. I want one.

Also, think your plasti-dip needs a touch up on your rim........lol

Hi Matty. I Plasti dipped my grill while I had it off to install the bull bar (gun metal grey, but I think I might go black, doesn't quite look like I wanted in gun metal grey), yer the Plasti dip on the wheels has had some abuse off road, thinking about replacing the wheels with a lower off set (+40 would be good) but can't decide what to go with
