Arb bar is great. No air suspension on my GC. No adaptive cruise sensor either as it is a Limited, but has the provision for the sensor. Has all parking sensors installed and working well. Can't go wrong. ;p

They had a bit of trouble when installing them. You need to use the little rubber surrounds on the sensors in the new bar. Because they were installed without them first, the sensors were touching the steel bar and they turned the system off. Re-installed rubber and presto.. maybe the sensors arent seated properly, they could be picking up the plastic cover on the bullbar itself. They have a pretty wide working angle. If they arent seated properly or arent straight, they may pick it up.

Thanks Harvie, shellhaul5183, I've got an overland (2012) with ACC / Air suspension once they re-seated my parking sensors all was good - ACC works find and the Air suspension seems to handle the extra weight ok at the moment.

Re: ARB Bullbar Delayed

Thanks All, I have ordered mine to be fitted with my new 14 Overland when it ever gets here..

And they now how to charge that's for sure!!!

$2,850.00 for the bullbar fitted and color coded to car but it also attracts the luxury vehcile tax of 33% which now makes the bullbar cost $3,790.50.

Good old Government!

I think I'd wait 12 months so the tax hike doesn't kick in.

Re: ARB Bullbar Delayed

Just get it fitted sometime later by a third party. I'm still waiting to see an ATO ruling on this 12 month thing.

Cheers,
Steve

Re: ARB Bullbar Delayed

I have chased that up today, If I buy the bulbar and get it installed so that is not on the price of the original invoice that exceeds $60.??? etc. then I will not have to pay luxury vehicle tax on the bull bar and can get it fitted basically brand new anyway, and save paying the government another $2K.

The A.T.O figures for luxury tax are
  • $75,375 AUD for fuel-efficient cars (Combined fuel under than 7L/100km)
  • $60,316 AUD for other cars.

Re: ARB Bullbar Delayed

Yep, I thought it just had to be invoiced separately, if I go and buy seat covers from supercheap auto, surely I don't give them LCT because I'm putting them in a new car that was over the threshold.....

That is exactly what I was informed,(which makes sense) only if it is on the original invoice and that exceeds the L.V.T threshold. If you want you can get the dealer to invoice you the vehicle then invoice you for accessories to save the tax. but I will go directly to ARB to get the bulbar installed and pay them directly but the dealer will be organizing the vehicle to go there and collect etc.

Re: ARB Bullbar Delayed

Yeah I'm kinda tired of this myth. Not on the contract, not done by the dealer, no LCT.

Ciao,
Steve

think what you are suiggesting may be illegal, and not many dealers might want to take that risk.
You need to keep the 2 transactions completely seperate.
1. The driveaway purchase of the car
2. Any aftermarket accessories.
My understanding that there is a "period" where the purchases must be linked. Big Brother govt wants to ensure you are not denying them of income. So I would take the advice of Benno, and have the accessories purchased by a different vendor. You need to keep that driveaway price as low as possible.

Re: ARB Bullbar Delayed

I'm thinking of ordering rims through the dealer I buy my GC through, perhaps I should get my wife to buy them.....
