As the maximum amount you can buy in one transaction at Woolies is 150lt, you'll save $30. I do 500k's a week easily so doing the sums (roughly) means;

$30 x 12months = $360 per year
$360 x 5yrs = $1800.

I was told to expect a price between $17-1800 fitted

Win win.....
We must have gone to the same 'school of maths'

Re: Auixiliary fuel tank for WK2

Won't you nominally be carrying around about 200lbs of extra weight when that tank is full though? Have to factor in the loss in gas mileage for the weight right?

Hi Yaccster, don't let facts and data get in the way of a good story:-)
I've got the boss convinced a long range tank is a great investment and will pay for itself.................eventually:-) now I have to hide your note.
There will also be some tax benefit (modification required for regional work travel mr tax man) plus help with resale value. That is if I ever give this truck up.

This looks to be a very good idea

There must be a better place to put the Led display.

Mine's ordered and booked to install in a few weeks. I'm sure there's other places to install the switch and led guage. Probably a personal choice, but I'm happy with next to the gear shift.

Re: Auixiliary fuel tank for WK2

Personally, I'll be trying to make it a little less obvious, preferably using a switch blank somewhere too.

On another note, what are those wheels in the 1st image, above?
Haven't seen them before on a Jeep..

Think they may belong to the forum post owner that lent His WK2 to them for the test fit. Not sure if He's on this forum or our Aus one.

I dont think 20c fuel discounts are offered monthly. The last one at Woolies was around the beginning of June, looking at my fuel log I'm guessing it would be quarterly or bi monthly at best.

However, generally when Woolies offer them, Coles does too and vice versa, so assuming you do back to back shopping and get two vouchers, you fill up immediately and use the second one at the end of the month which could potentially get you close.

Probably safer to calculate 8c discount on average (4c + 4c) by buying crap in the service station and spending five bucks. 8c discounts seem to come up more regularly than 20c so you can save 12c by buying in the shop.

Anyway, I like your thinking. I justified buying the Overland to myself on the basis it would be cheaper to run being diesel.

Does anyone know if you can still fit skid plates for the main tank or are they redundant?
