Aus Laredo Media Unit (431)

On the Aus delivered Laredos that come with the 431 Media Center, does this have GPS/Nav? or do you need to upgrade to the 731?

Side note, Dealer tried to quote $3500 to upgrade to the 731 U Connect media system, damn thats an expensive unit, big rip off.

Re: Aus Laredo Media Unit (431)

From what I have seen the 430 does not have Nav and Nav is not an option you can get on a 430.
From the sales brochure, it looks like the Laredo does not have any option to upgrade, only the Limited can upgrade.
The $3500 upgrade cost is for a Luxury Group 2 option and has power liftgate & heated wheel as some of the inclusions on this package.

Re: Aus Laredo Media Unit (431)

Hmm.. Just cause on the quote i was given it says "u connect sat nav - $3500" Doesnt mention anything else. Maybe they are just trying to use it to boost the price. They seem to be charging more than others for the CRD Laredo.

Although that means there is an option to upgrade in the Laredo, but i think the dealer does the upgrade maybe.

Re: Aus Laredo Media Unit (431)

I wouldn't worry about paying that price for the integrated option, separate GPS at 1/5 the cost are better IMHO

Re: Aus Laredo Media Unit (431)

You can get the nav radio fitted on its own for around $2200. Enforcer is right $3500 covers the luxury group which is factory fit only anyway so don't pay full price for it.

Re: Aus Laredo Media Unit (431)

The big issue that I find with factory inbuilt GPS is the time to obtain an updated mapping, and that update's cost.
It seems car manufacturers are still clinging onto prices of 10 years ago. Maybe this is because they cannot get lower pricing until they volume sell, and they cannot volume sell because buyers can get aftermarket at a fraction of the price.

The REP and RHP are the Australian Models. I wonder if they need any dealer intervention once installed though, it might be worth checking prior to ordering as by the time you add delivery and any dealer costs it might not be worth it.

No they ask for your VIN and model when you order and they set it up for your vehicle.
