It's because we are in Australia and the forum is in the US.

I am considering trying this:

AN-DAB1 DAB Antenna - Pioneer Car Accessories

Anyone know anything about it ?

Looks like it might be a good option - able to pick them up for $45 online through other car sound websites.

My idea failed miserably - essentially the part was a replica of what is already in my MY14. DAB antenna with a FAKRA connection is my next option. Though worried it will be in vain when the next UConnect software update is applied!!

I have am running Customtronix Rax Bronze and have emailed them as they sell do a DAB enabler but includes the aerial and is not worth the cost delivered to Aus at 150euro, I already have the aerial which I bought while ago but have been to lazy to do anything.

As soon as I hear back if they will do just the enabler as a software only update I will let you know.

I cannot live without being able to change address on the GPS while moving so will not roll back and update to 14.25 original.

Cheers

Picked one of these up on the weekend. Car stereo place seemed confident it would work. Only catch is it needs an SMB male to SMB male connector as both ends (car and antenna) are SMB female ends. These are on eBay in the small connector form and in an extension cord type setup.

Will let you know of progress. Fingers crossed.

I have installed the Pioneer AN-DAB1 DAB antenna. It works perfectly and is easy to conceal near the rear right window.
One extra piece is required. A SMB male to SMB male adaptor is needed as the Jeep has a SMB female connector and the Pioneer antenna has a SMB female connector also.
These guys in Brisbane got it to me very promptly.
https://www.telcoantennas.com.au/sit...b-male-adapter
All up the exercise was $55 for the antenna and about $15 for the adaptor including postage, so $70. It is plug and play and as soon as the antenna was connected DAB tuned straight away after the DAB button on UConnect was pressed. This was in my garage which is not open and sheltered by surrounding houses. (Difficult to tune DAB stations on a Sony radio in the vicinity).
Hope this helps!

Re: Australian 2014 GC with DAB

Hi,

I did this too, I did wonder about the compatibility of the Pioneer antenna when I noted on the instruction sheet that it states the voltage range implying its an active unit that may have only worked with specific Pioneer DAB receivers, however like you I have found so far it works really well. I got my SMB male to male from Element14 (used to be called Farnell). Just to be clear the only connection is the male SMB connector - there is no power connection so perhaps with specific pioneer receivers it gets the power through the standard antenna lead. Still, as I said it seems to work well as is.

Here are some pics on the adapter plugged into the Pioneer antenna lead and the antenna fitted to the window - apologies for the mud, we just got back from the Gamon Ranges :-)
