Really need a my15 to have a look where the antenna goes. Can someone confirm this maybe.
could you possibly take some pictures showing which panel you removed and the connector ? Sounds a bit like there's just a missing coax from that connector up to the shark fin given my dealer said they compared antennas from MY14 and 15 and there was no difference ?

Thanks.

Re: Australian 2014 GC with DAB

It's the panel on passenger side that covers the wheel arch in the boot. The connector is just below the window in the boot. Right in line with the end of the rear glass closest to the tailgate.

That connector plugs into the module, it's what connects into the other side I am unsure of. The dab antenna according to mopar parts look to be a single wire about 200mm long or so.

Kizz, while u have panel off can u take a few photos and post here so we can have a look. Also do u have the module that the two coax plug into.

Will have to check what the part no is later today as it is on my home pc.

Re: Australian 2014 GC with DAB

Thanks xlrate - yes makes sense now, the techauthority diagram would seem to suggest that wire you mention goes from that module to the glass on the passenger side window in the boot area. Could the DAB antenna actually be in that glass in the MY15 ?

Yes maybe that is the case. I think the othe coax is the GPS antenna or satellite radio antenna, not really sure. Maybe kizz could check to see where it actually is for us.
I am having my car serviced tomorrow so I could go and have a look at a my15/6.

Re: Australian 2014 GC with DAB

Here's a few pics -

LHS wiring loom, two black wires going up to the C Pillar I suspect are coax -

Looking up the C pillar trim -

A closer view of the coax leading into the connectors -

I'd have to pull the C pillar trim off for a better look, if I have time tonight i'll give it a go and get more pics. I'm suspecting the DAB antenna could be in glass as there is an element on the load area window on the LHS -

If this is the case, that would explain why the MY14/15 shark fins are the same. So just need to check if the MY14's have the window element?

Great, thanks for those - very helpful. Yes looking more and more likely the DAB antenna is in the glass.

No mine doesnt either, I think thats the issue. I am thinking though of experimenting with other types of antenna now I know (I think) where to connect them in easily.

Mine has no antenna in the glass either. So I might do the same as seeder and just get an amplified antenna and stick on the glass. Not sure how it going to go with the metal window tint though

Mine also has the DAB button, but doesn't pick up DAB unless in close vicinity of the towers.
So yours had the twin connector, only one side (the side you connected your trusty wire to) doesn't have anything connected to it?
Going to take the GC to my audio shop guys and install a glass fix antenna on it, let u know what happens

Re: Australian 2014 GC with DAB

It's a double coax connector, one side is the dab coax and the other I am not sure off. Just connect antenna to one and check for stations.

Make sure u get an amplified antenna. The original has a module before the antenna which is the amplifer.
