In the end I didn't purchase extended warranty, mainly due to lack of information from the 'warranty administrator' IAG/SWANN and the dealer and with the coverage provided by the ACL.

Re: Australian Extended Warranty

I have just bought a GC Laredo and got a Jeep waranty for an extra 2 years and 175,00 k but it is a "driveline component care", looks like the max they will pay is $1000 per claim which wont do much if it is a major failure. I got this for free when i made a hell of a scene because my car had 60 klm on it when i picked it up, far as i was concerned it wasnt new, didnt know who was driving it and wasnt going to pay $50,000 for a demonstrator ! Nothing in either warranty about having to take it back to selling dealer, hope that is the case, would prefer to use someone i trust.

Re: Australian Extended Warranty

60km is not a lot of km for a new car. They may have done extra QA testing or needed it for the lunch run. It does suck, I took a new car for a short test drive (10km) as they had no demos, so I guess I am guilty of it as well.
Did you buy it from a Suttons dealer ?
I got one of these bodgy ones and it is worthless. As others have said, a $50k car should last longer than 3 years and under the new ACL's, you would have a good case to make Jeep repair it after the 3 year warranty, depending on milage. Swann do the extended warranties and must be sold at time of purchase, this will be the case until JeepAU pull their finger out and allow Swann to sell them directly to us.

1 out of every so many go for an extended test around the test track. It is well documented in the main forum. Not sure but Milous may be able to confirm if it was tested. You would have to become a site paid member.

Re: Australian Extended Warranty

mine was never registered just didnt think it was right to have so many ks on a new vehicle, although most new ones on the lot had about 45 klm on them, must say i am a little dissapointed with the whole jeep buying,no proper aus. manual, just slightly modified american one to download,no mention of the headlight washers, etc, etc, 1/4 tank fuel, love the car though.hopefully wont need any warranty. Sorry going a bit off topic.

Re: Australian Extended Warranty

Millzzy, It does suck if the dealer has not treated you right. I would expect a full tank of fuel as a minimum. As for the manuals, yeah I have been on to Jeep about the lack of them and was told soon. Not really acceptable for them to take this long. I would roast your dealer on the survey...if they ever call/send you one.

I'd suggest you check just what is and isn't covered in the Swann warranty, you'll find they don't cover things like shock absorbers, glow plugs, any type of seals and numerous other things.

Personally I won't be getting extended warranty on mine.

Re: Australian Extended Warranty

Its now 2014 has anyone got any up to date info on the Jeep extended warranty for the 2014 my14 Grand Cherokees.
Mine is due for delivery in late April/early May.
Would like to have it sorted by then.
I notice Jeep Australia is offering extended roadside assist at $143.00 per an.
Anybody using this extra?
Cheers
Peter

Re: Australian Extended Warranty

The roadside assist is just run through Alliance. You are better off with NRMA in my view.
