Auto Lift Gate opinions

Can I please get some feedback on Auto lift Gate option for GC .
How do you find it.? Too slow or ok to open and close? What if that you have a big item to carry (eg: fridge/book case) and item sticks out back so you have to tie down the door. (Eg: can you manually turn it off?)
Also can you order the auto lift gate without the heated steering wheel? (luxury pack)

Re: Auto Lift Gate opinions

We find the auto lift gate a great feature. It is easy to control the gate manually if required. Having the open button on the key fob is also a great feature.

Not sure about not being able to exclude the heated steering wheel. If you don't want it, just don't turn it on? My Mrs loves it on a cold morning. That and the heated seats, or what the kids call "Bum Warmers". Not really needed for most parts of Australia, but does add a little luxury for those that are a little "softer" than others.

Re: Auto Lift Gate opinions

You have to remember, car manufacturers build to a mass market so all bells and whistles may not appeal to all but they do give you the on / off option.

As to the lift gate, I read in another thread that others have simply dropped the gate down, opened the glass passed the strap through, closed the glass and secured the gate against whatever it was they were carrying.

As good as the Jeep is, I don't think I'd be hanging fridges and bookcases out of it!

Your alternative is use a trailer or a moving company for the big things in life!

Re: Auto Lift Gate opinions

We love the auto door, as it makes life easier for the wife with the pram.
I sometimes forget about ti and just close it "old skool", but most of the time we use the button. As for the heated stuff, we used it the other morning and it was great. The wheel gets too warm. Personally I LOVE the vented seats on long drives.

Vented seats yeah

Love the electric lift gate.
Boxes in arms, one finger to flick the handle and she opens.
