Battery Disconnect

I didn't get a radio code from the dealer at delivery.
If the battery is disconnected does the radio lock and is a code needed?

Re: Battery Disconnect

no
Your radio is lockek via the vin.
It has the VIN stored in it and will only work in your jeep.

Re: Battery Disconnect

Keep a 10mm ring spanner in the glovebox for this job. It has saved me several times now.

Re: Battery Disconnect

I did disconnect the battery to connect up the 2nd battery isolator and the UHF.
On turning the key on, the radio screen lit up with something like "ENTER RADIO SECURTY CODE" writ very large.
Bugger. moisture starts on forehead.
Start vehicle, nothing on radio screen, even time display, let run for a short while - press radio button - all lit up fine. Reset time.
Yep, it works.
Had to go and buy a 13mm extended socket tho to undo the battery base clamp - they are little devils to get at when you have big mitts.
And the terminal clamps are crappy (IMO)
