Mind you this morning after a short drive of ten k then cleaning the car, going in and out of the house with key in pocket. Car wouldn't run, low oil light on. Rang Jeep assist and they suggested the 3 lock unlock trick to reset computer! No go! Ordered tow truck to nearest dealer. I left it for 10 minutes, tried 3 lock unlock again and presto all good again. Mmmmm Gremlins!!!! Though must say Jeep assist very helpful!

I think that if you lock/unlock/lock/unlock/lock/unlock in quick sequence, it will reset the computer.
I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong.

It is what Jeep Assist walked me through the other day with what it turns out to have been a sensor problem to "Reset the computer"!

Re: Battery Issues with Aus CRD?

I can report that the battery in my petrol WK2 apparrently "dropped a cell" within 10 days of delivery. Dealer replaced it with a 900amp/hr one.
Must say, I wasn't impressed by the local Jeep Assist contractor. Went to jumpstart the car and proceeded to look under the aircleaner cover for the battery.

This would have to be a good reason not to leave your key fob in the centre console

Re: Battery Issues with Aus CRD?

Guys , had a flat battery issue with my 2011 WK2 diesel. Took it to dealer and they did a PCM (?) upgrade with a USB stick . Took 40 mins and not a problem at all since then.

Re: Battery Issues with Aus CRD?

I now have just over 10,000km on my WK2 3.0 Diesel, my battery failed at 1300km, the dealer replaced it because Jeep assist had to come to my house to get it going, it completely shut down, transmission locked and all, have not had the problem since, new battery is 900cca, what I have noticed though is since I have been locking the car (even though it is garaged) I can leave the car undriven for a week or more and all is O.K, I wonder if it is possible that if you dont lock the car, leave it for a couple of days it could go flat, why I say this is because I have been told the computer does not shut all the car down untill the alarm is active, therefore things even though they may be switched off still run in the background causing a gradual power drain ?

Re: Battery Issues with Aus CRD?

At last, got to the bottom of my battery issues with my CRD 3.0L WK2, here we go, after mine failing 4 times and getting a new 900cca battery ( this however failed to recify the problem ) I finally found a dealer who could solve the problem, by the way it will not happen to those who drive their cars daily or even every two days, you must leave the car for 3 to 4 days for this failure to occur, and it was as simple as putting a USB stick into the Jeep multi function radio system and updating it to a later version, evidently if you have version 9.02.11 or anything starting with a 9 your Jeep Connect system even if turned of will be activated by your computer (ecu) and drain approx 1/2 a volt a day, it does not turn on as such it just will run in the background and you will be unaware, once upgraded the problem with battery drain is solved, hope this helps.
