Re: Benn0's build up thread

Wetseat Neoprene car seat covers arrived. Before and after of the front. Looks like a pink tinge in the pic, but it is more a light caramel. One thing you notice straight away is these covers have more friction, I'm used to sliding across a leather seat, you can;t slide on these. I'll probably leave the rear one in all the time, with kids car seats on top, and only install the front ones for long trips/camping/offroading.

I have these. Only complaint is they don't breathe, and can get sweaty. But great for protection, easy cleaning and jumping into the car with wet swimmers.

When are those hooks going on?

Re: Benn0's build up thread

Any day now, been busy getting the cruiser cleaned up to sell. And just listed the original rims and tyres on gumtree. I need money!

Re: Benn0's build up thread

I did, and they were all secure. I did just notice a dent in the chrome roof rail. Looks like something square and hard has hit across the top of it. Not too worried though.

I have been meaning to check the turbo hoses.....

Re: Benn0's build up thread

Ok, so the hooks are on, and so is the Chief sump skid plate. The skid plate went on fairly easily, just needed a bucket to hold up the existing skid plate behind it, and another bucket to hold the chief skid plate up, then a couple of quick grips to hold the front to the cross member. I also ran the bolts in and out of the holes before I started to make sure I wasn't going to cross any threads.

The hooks were a bit trickier, I couldn't get the passenger side one to bolt in, the thread kept skewing. Didn't help that there are a couple of hoses there limiting access. Got it eventually, but these things are heavy!. Good workout.

Re: Benn0's build up thread

Had a great run out to Mt Glorious today, the Jeep loves the bends, poor kids were getting a bit car sick in the back.

I notice there is a spot just outside of the Gap called Jeep Break.... hoping that wasn't an omen...

My only criticism of the Chief hooks is they seem to stick out a bit far. What do you reckon Benn0?
If they were about an inch shorter would blend a bit more like the Mopar ones.

Re: Benn0's build up thread

Bigskiddy
While I do agree that an inch shorter would be my preference, I don't think the Jeep attachment bolt configuration on the vehicle helped Bmackin when designing the product (could be wrong). I still want set of these!
Bill, can they be made a little shorter to look more like an OEM fit?
