I actually was surprised at how well they blend in. If I line up directly over the bumper and look down at the hooks, they stick out half an inch. And in black against the black airdam, they aren't all that visible from front on.

If anything I'd like something that stands out more to give it some off-road cred! Might have to paint them red....

Painting them Red might be a great idea (like horns on a devil ). How long did it take you to get the sump plate installed ? I am thinking about getting them as well. I quite like the look of the hooks and the added flexibility of being able to go off road.

Re: Benn0's build up thread

Probably took me about 2 hours to do the hooks and sump plate. Mucked around a bit with one of the hooks. And taking the airdam off the first time is a bit tricky, had a few goes at it before I worked it out. Helps if you read the instructions BEFORE you start:

http://www.chiefproducts.com.au/inst...tion_plate.pdf

And be careful with the bolts for the sump plate, wind them in to the thread before fitting the sump plate to make sure they go in without damaging the thread. And don't over-tighten, I've been checking them regularly to make sure they don't come loose.

Re: Benn0's build up thread

Well sold my old wheels and tyres for $1200 to Sam from Sydney. He drove up to get them, that was keen.

Interestingly he tells me he had the front axle CV boot failure on his 2012 GC, had to replace the axle. He also has the noisy shock problem, he's going in for his 3rd replacement.

U had a chance to fit your CouplerTec system yet?
Just picked up my 4 pad system today. Another item ticked off before she arrives.

Yep, I got it fitted by the guy who did the paint protection and tint. I need to get those rock rails on next.

You enjoy fitting those rock rails. Everyone says they're a lot of fun.

Re: Benn0's build up thread

Yep, so I've heard.....

Geez I'm having trouble sorting out a spare. The Coopers are 818mm diameter, so I'm looking for something close to that on an 18 inch rim and 255mm width. I see Hankooks do a dynapro in that size, but can't find them locally. Might have to import one.

Re: Benn0's build up thread

Well I ended up going for a Bridgestone D840 H/T 255/70R18 for the spare, just fits in the spare wheel well, and 818mm diameter is close to the Coopers 818mm.

Re: Benn0's build up thread

Is 818mm from Cooper different to 818mm from Bridgestone ?
