Hi Bob, seems it's true. I received a PM from another Melbourne WK2 owner advising that His was one of the JGC's used for a scan by the design gurus.

Re: Bullbar coming

I was at the Perth 4x4 show yesterday and the ECB mob confirmed they now have an Overland ACC compliant bar. $2,250 fitted here in the west.

Jeep Grand Cherokee bumper kits, WK2... 2011, 2012, 2013
At this time I am in conversations with a U.S counterpart who has dealt with the Rocky Road Outfitters for his front winch on his 2012 J.G.C.

I have been in touch with R.R.O re this issue and the fact that 2012 Australian J.G.C have a shortened front chasis and no factory front recovery hooks is a major problem as these hooks are an integral part of supporting the winch plate from R.R.O.
Also R.R.O are at this time figuring out an option on this plate of theirs to be Automatic Cruise Controle friendly, as the glass eye at the front and sending unit is a problem at this time.

I recall reading somewhere else on this site that Rocky Road's customer service leaves a little to be desired. This is no reflection of the quality of their product but you might want to check it out yourself.

Re: Bullbar coming

Darn I really liked the look of those. Looks like I'm back to the light bar attached to the number plate screw holes. But as my front number plate just seems to be tek-screwed to the plastic fascia, I'm a bit worried. Has anyone tried one of these?

Just to clarify, it's not an LED light bar, it's just a chrome bar that you can attach spotties to. Cheers.

The ones I've seen have required larger holes drilled and nuts and bolts used to hold it to the bumper. Regular self-tapping number plate screws wouldn't hold the weight of the bar and 2 spotlights.

Re: Bullbar coming

Thanks Studgun, that's what I was expecting. Might just have to cough up for the ECB one seeing there are no other alternatives at the moment, are there ARB?

I just don't understand Jeep's logic. Limited and Overland have front parking sensors standard, and you can option them on the Laredo, but the genuine nudge bar isn't compatible? I understand that they probably sell more Laredos than the other two, but surely missing the opportunity to slug buyers $500 for $20 worth of 2" pipe is crazy?

I don't understand them not putting light and aerial tabs on the nudge bar. Do they serve any other purpose than to hold lights? I guess to nudge things, but what and why?

Re: Bullbar coming

+1 to that too. I just assumed it would have points like that.

I spoke with the ARB state rep and he reckoned late Jan for the steel winch bar - said he got an email about it during the week and that they had been caught out a bit by the )surprising) success of the wk2

Re: Bullbar coming

Ok so it's coming - next fitment.

I know from other vehicles you need to upgrade the front springs and torsion bar because any warranty claims for the std suspension caused by the bar are void.

I imagine Quadralift will compensate for the extra weight out front and level out the car, but will the steel bar void warranty? The dealers fit the ECB alloy bar with no mention of it. That is of course, assuming they have thought about it!!

Any thoughts on upgrades for steel sprung vehicles and impact on Q- lift?

Hi Mendo, I've got the std Laredo without Q-Lift. Front bar is my next addition. Waiting to see what the ARB option is, but at this time, I'm heading for the ECB one in the charcoal ripple finish.
In terms of suspension upgrade, I'm seriously looking at the Dobinsons kit for mine.
If you go onto their website, they have two suspension upgrade options. One for Q-lift and one without.
Hope this helps.
Scott
