Bullbar or Nudge bar for Grand Cherokee

Picking up my new car tomorrow. Considering either a nudge bar or bull bar for it.

Like to hear people's views on this. Ie. Which one, bull or nudge and brand?

Thanks

For what reason are you considering a bullbar or nudge bar? This will assist people in understanding your goals. Eg. Somewhere to mount lights or roo protection etc.

Ok, fair enough. One reason is for driving lights, CB antenna mounting. Roo protection will depend on our travelling. But mostly it'll be daylight hours and to start with mostly popular tourist spots within VIC and SE NSW

Re: Bullbar or Nudge bar for Grand Cherokee

I have just been through this decision myself. My circumstances are a bit different, I just wanted some low down protection on the front end when four wheel driving. I also wanted to keep the car looking as standard as possible and not add to much weight.

Options I looked at:
ARB, ruled this out because I didn't want the front guards cut.

ECB, a good alloy bar that only weighs 32kg. Fits well, but I didn't like the look.

Uneek, they have several options. 3, 1 and no loop designs. As I was just after the lower protection the no loop design appealed to me and kept the car looking pretty standard. Down side was they only come in steel and weight was 60+kg.

Chief 4x4, I ended up buying their lower front guard and sump protection plate. When these are fitted the original front air dam still fits and the car looks 100% standard. When heading bush you just remove the air dam which takes about 5 minutes.

I had an ARB Bull Bar fitted to my 2014 GC Limited and am more than happy with the result. I have 2 high intensity LED lights attached as well as a small light bar. The bull bar is also handy for the UHF aerial.
The parking sensors work well and there is no wind noise whatsoever. I haven't noticed any steering or suspension issues with the added weight either. ARB did a brilliant job fitting the bar. Living in Central Qld there are lots of wildlife around and the added protection gives me peace of mind.
My wife preferred the clean lines of the GC at first but she has warmed to the more "masculine" lines of the bull bar. I can highly recommend this bar.

What do these bullbars cost? And nudge bars for that matter if anyone knows?

There's a local ARB dealer in town, but I've heard some less than positive things about it. Otherwise I'd just go there.

Re: Bullbar or Nudge bar for Grand Cherokee

A bullbar from either ARB or Uneek, colour coded to your car and fitted will cost you ~$3K.
You can get cheap Ebay nudge bars for ~$300 or you could go for the Chief products nudge bar at ~$750

Plenty of choice.
Me personally, if I could justify one I'd be looking at this one from Uneek

From memory the cost was about $2450 including colour coding, fitting, and fog lights. In my opinion, money well spent overall.

Picked up the GC today. Bloody nice car to drive. Starting to explore its gadgetry.

However, there's one thing mentioned in the manual that I cannot find. Remote starting. Do the Australian models have it? If so, which ones?
