I did recall seeing a post from the US about changing the filter......in checking it out I noticed from the pics that the cover that you unclip in front of the filter has the latch on the LH side. On our RH drive vehicles the latch is on the RH side. http://jeepgarage.org/showthread.php...971#post490971
Maybe it is possible that the filter housing can go into the duct either way up.
If the filters are preinstalled into the housing it might be a lucky dip which way they are finally in the car.
Don't think it makes a difference anyway - although the new filter I have shows an air flow direction.

Mine is the right way up. Checked it before the car had 12 month service at the dealership last week, and it was quite dirty. Checked again after the service and, yep, still just as dirty. Did the same for the engine air filter and it wasn't changed either. Wonder what they do at the service....
