Leaving on all 4 lugs made it really tricky to get off, lots of rotating until I got it right. Trimming off one lug makes it easy, just rotate and it will come off a cinch. If your concerned about the fit, just put a thinish pad between the cap and the door to seal it tight. However should be good. Have spray painted it black. Should be good to go. May even leave it off when doing the city shuffle, but will definately fit when hitting the dirt!

Davo said this quite a while ago, and I couldn't agree more, what bloody idiot thought that one out!
Drive any distance on dirt and it is impossible NOT to get dirt in the tank. As soon as you press the fuel nozzle in to the filler, in goes the dirt!

I have been using foam between filler and door, hopefully just enough that it doesn't press the filler flap inwards, when closed.
However I will give the agi pipe plug a go, as some of you seem to be having success with that.
Thanks for the tips.

Auxiliary fuel tank was fitted no more problems extra 75litres worth the spend when you consider the alternative ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1428976425.671296.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1428976493.504876.jpg
Now have two filler points inside the main filling point which is quite large

Re: Capless fuel filler and dust

Just remember dirt could still get in under the agi cap, since I dont 4WDing I cannot comment on dirt getting under, maybe someone who has done the agi cap mod and goes off road can comment.

I will get one of the purpose made caps that are currently being made by Dom from jeepdieselecofix when they become available.

Re: Capless fuel filler and dust

Thanks for that. I plan to get it pretty dirty so that's good news there is a proper fitting cap being worked on.
I,m also glad to hear that the agi cap is working. I'll use that in the interim.
cheers.
